  1. This was by far some of the best sushi I've had in a while.  As most of my readers know I am extremely picky about my sushi but this place really surprised me.  The fish was super fresh and all of the dishes my friends and I had were great.  I had the spicy salmon tartar which was really quite different than other kinds I've had before – instead of a little tower, this came on little triangular crisps and the tartar was blended with avocado and spicy sauce, but no ponzu anywhere.  So different yet so tasty.  I also had a sweet potato roll which was perfectly cooked and not too heavy on the tempura.  Additionally I had two pieces of sushi:  salmon and yellow tail. This is usually my test – if that wins the place is good.  So the salmon was so amazing I almost, in all my fullness, was attempted to order like ten more pieces.  The yellowtail, which was slightly more fishy, but not overwhelming, was perfectly buttery.  My friends had other pieces and they both had a Shintaro roll (their special) which they said was amazing.

One negative, but not worth the deduction in stars, the helicopter staff would not stop hovering.  We were in no rush, so what's yours?  As a tip to the restaurant:  back off your customers; every table there felt uncomfortable by the staff.  Yes, they were super friendly and helpful, but the creepiness factor is a problem.

In short though, I'm going back here – the sooner the better!

  2. Can't get enough of this local Japanese restaurant that serves SUPER fresh sushi and amazing, creative rolls. Add in a staff that is very friendly and attentive and you have a homerun.

  3. This place is pretty good, not sure if id give it more than 3.5, and being its not a 4… They get 3.  Im not crazy about the service here though.  i get the feeling as if the one lady working here expects your business rather than appreciating it.  Food is freah though, no complaints there, its really just the atmosphere and layout which is just wide open, no character.

I'd give it a shot if your in the area, and I did try the place right across the street (literally) which is Umi I believe, Asian fusion.  I had only the sushi at that place, and this place is better in my opinion, although I don't rush here either if I have time and a choice.

  4. LOVED the sushi!
Completely turned me on as a fan of these dishes…

The first time I went was my first sushi experience…. needless to say I now eat sushi A LOT!
