Shunju
“The spicy edamame was hands down the best prepared edamame I've ever had; I'm not sure what delicious spices and sauces they put on this, but they should never stop.”
“Taka was my go-to joint, and it is still quite good, but I think Shunju is better/fresher.”
“The restaurant is also BYO, so we had picked up some Sapporo beer and we had a great dinner.”

The new fusion spot on Beechwood Ave., SHUNJU, has a really nice look and feel to it. Taking over for the old Beacon Hill Tavern (RIP to a great dive), it's got some big boots to fill…
+Service
Very good. Attentive (refilling waters, checking in, etc..) time will tell if this is a business principle or just for the grand opening of SHUNJU.
+Ambiance
Really nice and cozy vibe inside SHUNJU. They have seating in the front and back of the restaurant. I didn't see any difference when I walked through with my wife — the back is a SCOCHE more intimate, which is kind of nice. The front has tables and booths, all with nice lighting and upscale touches.

Shrimp Shumai. This is a classic my wife and I like to split, and we agreed to try it out here. Really well done; great dipping sauce to pair with it (not every place has that). They also paired it with curled, shredded carrot slices on the side, which went really well. They came out hot and soft. Lovely.
+Entreè (did two this time)
#1: Spicy Salmon roll (1). Delicious. Fresh, tasty fish; delicious, sticky rice. Done really well. Compared to Jenni's immediately (my favorite sushi spot in Summit).
#2: Bunxao. Wow. Absolutely delicious. Noodles, bean sprouts, onions, shrimp, and egg. Perfect portion size, as when I finished it, I wasn't bloated/self-loathing. Delicious seasonings, with a great texture to the noodles. They were soft, but had a "matte"-type texture to them; a bit rough, but delicious. SHUNJU did this fusion taste spot on.
SHUNJU gives you a really cozy, delicious Asian fusion spot right in Summit downtown. The location is great, and really makes you feel like you're "away from home," dining somewhere else. They do a great job with their fusion dishes and classic sushi rolls alike. Will definitely be coming back here.
