  1. Did not have anything else as I had diner before (see a new review.)

Walked to the front and a kind man gave me a menu. Asked for a baklava to go. He told me to pick w/e one I want so I took the one from the top.
He asked if he wanted to cut it (sure why not.) Got a knife and a bunch of napkins.

    Mostly unassuming so fr.

But then I tasted it, some checks for good baklava.

Price: 2.50, no tax, for a pretty big piece. Check
Filo Dough: Super buttery, flaky crust but not super breakable that it makes a mess. Checkx2
Filling: Pistachios, were not overly sweet and a good amount of pistachios. Checkx3

    Amazing inexpensive baklava.

  2. Neat little place, not too far from the AMNH.  As a few Yelpers have mentioned, for service alone, 4 stars.  The guy gives you samples of meat!   Good way to sell the product!  Food in regards to taste, probably 3 stars.  It's a simple, no fuss business with reliably fine food.  Nothing too flavorful, but definitely a solid meal for a quick bite.  My friend and I recently stopped by for sandwiches.  Falafel is fine, justly crisped, but nothing amazing.  Lamb kebab was yummy and satisfying.  You'll spend around $6-8 per person here.

  3. The vegetarian combo had many appealing components, with first-rate hummus, baba ganoush, tabouleh and falafel. The standout item was the hot sauce. The prices appear to be slightly higher than average but my platter was quite large so I'd expect the same from the meat offerings that I intend to try next time.

  4. Yum!  I was need of a quick and filling lunch and Sido satisfied all the requirements.  I had their $8.95 veggie plate of tabbouli, hummus, and falafel.

Their falafel was delicious!  I don't like very dense falafel but this falafel was flavorful and airy.  Their tabbouli is the best!  Delicious and lemony just like I had at my Syrian friend's house which is the best I have ever had.

I go to the Upper West Side a couple times a week these days and I will def be stopping by soon!

  5. Delicious!! I had a falafel sandwich, was served within 2 minutes, and loved every bite. When the man at the counter was making our food he gave us a bit of hummus on warm pita. Staff is super friendly and quick. They have a few tables outside (always fun to people watch and eat). The falafel was great- I would definitely go back  for more!

  6. Returned to Sido after a few years now that I live close by. Overall, I was happy with my items. The falafel was tasty, fresh and crispy. They didn't have my favorite babaganoush for the day but I also got a side order of hummus and it was wonderfully smooth and creamy. The place is still small and no frills, best for take out.

  7. This is a standard Middle Eastern place. It is very small and seating is limited. Their offerings are the usual falafel, hummus, shawarma, kebab, and babaghannouj. I liked my meal here, but overall this is a generic place.

They have a vegetarian platter deal that is a good deal at only $8.50. You get to choose three things for the platter. I had the falafel, hummus and babaghannouj. The only other thing you can choose for the three things is tabouli salad. All of these three were good quality. Hummus was creamy and a good consistency. The falafel was warm and crispy just the way I like it.

  8. This place makes a nice Falafel sandwich! Its also priced right at 4.25.

If your into healthy salads and hummus, give Sido a try. Yesterday I had a Falafel pita with the sauce being hot but not overbearing. We can go back and forth but the "BEST" Falafel in the city is stretch for this place.

    Enjoy!
