  1. A fairly typical Jersey Shore dining spot, with a Great view! Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Large portions. Food is okay. Nothing special. The food here is great in concept, but could use a chef's touch more than a short order cook's spatula. With a little extra effort this place could be amazing.

Outside dining is a real plus here, especially if you happen to be biking along the Henry Hudson/Bayshore rail trail, and you want to stop for breakfast or lunch. The trail passes by about 100 yards away. Sissy's is also dog-friendly, so you can sit outside with your best friend, have a bite, and enjoy the nice water views.

The menu here offers cheese steaks, subs, salads, grilled cheese, etc. I'm sure you can get the classic NJ porkroll egg & cheese on a roll for breakfast too. My grilled chicken salad was very large, and although it wasn't bad, it really didn't have too much flavor beyond that which the balsamic vinaigrette dressing provided. A little seasoning or char-broiling on the grilled chicken would have gone a long way here. And shredded cheddar which clearly came right out of the bag? Really? I noticed my friends happily ate their (huge) roast beef & cheesesteak subs, but I also didn't really hear anyone comment about how delicious they were. Solid three stars, but more for the view, the friendly service, and the quantity, than the quality.

  2. Had lunch here yesterday after fishing for Fluke on the Atlantic Star.
The food was very good and the service was excellent.
    Wonderful location and nice atmosphere.
A good place for lunch for sure.
