Awful. Just awful. I ordered a chicken gyro.. A no brainier for diners, right? Not this one. Chicken was cold and tasteless, tomatoes tasted like chalk. The tzatziki sauce was strange. Strange texture and taste. I sent it back for a grilled cheese. Raphael, our server was good though. This was my first and last time at this diner.
Construction is happening at the entrance so be careful entering and leaving the parking lot.
Came for breakfast with my boyfriend this morning and it was empty, around 10ish. Our hostess was very friendly and recognized my boyfriend immediately as he was once a regular there. Our waiter was great, too. I like that this diner separates the breakfast menu from the full menu, as less choices mean less indecisiveness when ordering (at least for me)!
I ordered the Six Brothers skillet which was comprised of: home fries, eggs, cheddar cheese, and bacon. Substituted the bacon for turkey bacon which I usually love – but it seemed they "grilled" it with grill marks and everything, giving it a smoky/burnt-ish flavor rather than the crispy deliciousness I prefer. Next time I'll specify how I like it.
My boyfriend ordered the Western Omelette which I don't recall the ingredients of besides eggs, of course! He did have mushrooms and American Cheese added. I didn't try it but he finished his plate, making it safe to say he enjoyed it.
The portions were extremely large, leaving leftovers for me for at least two days. Their dessert display looked fantastic! I'll be back to try other items in the future.
Six Brothers has been a staple to many teenagers from Montclair High School and I'm sure the same can be said for the students at Montclair State. Its family-run, Greek which is obvious from the outside – almost looks like a pantheon. The food is meh, they have all the traditional diner favorites but whatever you order has a 50/50 shot coming out right – no hairs found yet. The staff is ok unless you're with a crazy group especially kids. Conveniently located in the back of Montclair State University and off Route 46 right before the split. There are other diners in the area I'd try, this is a last resort.
Meh. It was okay. Overall the food was good but nothing great.
We had basic breakfast fare. Pancakes and eggs. Both were what you expect.
Service wasn't that great. Not that it was packed, but the waiter took forever to come to us. Hostess had to get him for us. Service after that was ok.
In a land of diners, a place needs to standout. This place does not.
Have fun
Popped in for a quick lunch with a friend. She went with the chicken soup which she reported as being 'okay'. I opted for the veggie wrap and potato salad. The wrap came completely unraveled as I went to eat it and I thought that there was far too much cheese in there as it leaked milk fat everywhere.
The potato salad was way too warm but would have been nice since it had some added seasoning in it.
Service was okay.
Went here on a Friday night after a long hiatus from here. I hadnt been here in years. Ive been told by many people this place was very good now. They were incorrect in my opinion. I will let them slide on the no air conditioning beacuse of the heat wave. Ill let it slide that the state is doing roadwork infront of the place and it was challenging to get in there. However the lot condition was like a warzone with the pavement condition. That should have been my warning. We went in anyway and stayed with virtually no air conditioning. I was committed to stay, since I was referred back how could I go wrong. The ice tea was not good possibly spoiled. It took us a very long time to get our food after ordering. Diners in the area are known for the speed that you can be in an out. Not here, it felt like an eternity. I had asked for meduim rare on my burger my wife had asked for medium on hers. Mine came super rare and hers very well done. I was beyond apprehensive to send it back thats my own fault but we ate what we could and left. The waitstaff was very freindly thats why Im giving the extra star. Otherwise no way I return. Food was edilbe, maybe.
This is a go to diner for the area of Montclair and Little Falls. Its better then Tic Toc Diner for sure and the prices are better.
The mozzarella sticks are homemade and my favorite. Everything else is pretty standard for a diner. There is a large menu so there is something for everyone. Full bar too.
Well, this is a place I wanted to try for a while… But this time will be my last time.. What an awful Diner, awful food, and awful long drive to be disappointed. You walk in, it's about 400 degrees in the entranceway.. Nice, it is cold outside… But then you walk into the diner, it's about -20 and so cold. Everyone is wearing their jackets it's so cold… Can you please turn up the heat? Do you NOT notice everyone is wearing their jackets?
So, we order. My wife ordered a Gyro and had to return it because it was so bad. I ordered their 3-Brothers Skillet. Sounds good, right? Potatoes, onions, peppers, mushrooms, cheese.. Topped with 2-eggs any style, with bacon or sausage. Can't go wrong with that combo… So, for just about 10 bucks, I got frozen potatoes that you'd get from a buffet, a sorry amount of onions, peppers, and mushrooms.. And it was smothered with cheese. I ordered my eggs scrambled and they were ok at best. My bacon tasted like it was oven baked and not very good. I was very disappointed with my meal. With all the diners in the area, they need to step up their game.. And my wife and I had to order coffee just to keep warm.
The only good thing about my experience was our server, Raphael. He was very polite and on point.
Bottom line: With all the diners in the area, go somewhere else. This place is the suck…
