I've moved and I miss this place so much! I am craving it today and I won't be able to satisfy it. I miss American Flag Roll wahhhhh
——————–
Six Happiness is my go-to sushi place when I'm home. One side of the shop is Japanese Cuisine and the other side is Chinese. I have only gotten sushi. The American Flag special roll is my favorite! Other than that I usually get pretty standard rolls: spicy tuna, salmon avocado, etc. etc. They are the best priced that I've come to find in the area so far. The woman at the register has always been friendly and their delivery service is pretty quick. Check the To Go menus for coupons & discounts. Each of the corresponding menus has different items. Love it!
I have 2 critiques: 1. I've had better sweet potato rolls – I think these are a little too tempura for my taste and not enough sweet 2. I do not like their soy sauce at all. I've actually gone out to buy my own and I dump their sauce out, rinse the container, and replace it with my own at home. No biggie.
Who would have thought a snob like me would order sushi from a Chinese take-out spot in a strip mall by railroad tracks that also sells sushi? Now, it's not 5 star sushi or Morimoto. But for a Friday night in, the sushi is fine. I have ordered from here many, many times and have never gotten sick or horrible sushi. The chinese food isn't bad either. The staff here is super friendly and remember me by name. Even when I take a long hiatus. Prices are reasonable, it's clean and fast. For the area, I'm pretty sure this is as good as it gets for take out sushi.
This place has become my go-to sushi delivery place in Fair Lawn.
After ordering from here several times now, I can say with confidence that the sushi is very good, the prices are reasonable and the delivery is quick.
I'm pretty picky when it comes to ordering sushi. I have yet to find a spot that compares to Manu's in the Iron bound section of Newark. I have high expectations when it comes to sushi.
Considering this was my first time trying Six Happiness. I placed an order for delivery at 10:10 pm last night and it arrived at 10:50.
I ordered the Alaskan roll, Fairlawn roll, shrimp tempura, and the eel roll. For take-out sushi it was pretty good. I'd definitely order from here again.
Been living in Fair Lawn a little over a year and this remains our go-to Chinese food restaurant. It is run of the mill takeout Chinese-I can't say it's the best but it's far from the worst. I do love that they remember my boyfriend's name every time he goes to pick up food-I feel like it's worth mentioning because it says something about their customer service.
Got sushi, soup and salad delivered yesterday from here. Their delivery was on time. The salad was good. The lettuce was fresh and crisp. The wonton soup was ok. The sushi was bad. Just straight up bad. I don't know how you can mess up sushi like this. Isn't it supposed to just be inherently delicious? Maybe it was the combination of the fish in the rolls. Maybe sushi requires some kind of seasoning or prep and Six Happiness didn't do it. I don't know people.
Reading into the reviews here on yelp, I see the consensus is the Chinese food is good but the Japanese food isn't. I would come back here for Chinese food to give them a fair chance.
This place delivers an amazing value, particularly for sashimi. For $13.95, I get much more chirashi than I can get for $22 at nearby places. It's also pretty good quality fish. The salmon is silky, hard to resist. For $14.95, I get even more fish and even more sushi rice in the form of the sashimi dinner. I'm thinking of switching to the appetizer.
The non-sushi entrees are also immense and inexpensive, but not nearly as good. The egg foo young and the garlic eggplant were both pretty greasy, and the pad thai was not so flavorful and had little in the way of vegetables. The ma po tofu seems to vegetarian, though who knows. Soups are fine and a pretty good value for the price. They forgot my salad on one order. (It was still a good deal.)
If you order on Grubhub, bear in mind that delivery times can be quite long and come right at the end of the delivery window (but still hot and on time).
Under new ownership, and I have to say it's not good at all now. Sorry six happiness, I'll be going elsewhere!
