Where is the crust? It's missing. This is not NY style pizza, I'm not sure what style it is but I was not a fan. The bottom of it was super greasy which I don't know how you do that, and it had way too much cheese for my taste.
My go to diner and place for quick take out. The ladies who work there are nice and service is quick. Def try Antonio's omelet: Corn beef hash + American cheese = brilliant!
Good, inexpensive food that is served quickly. This coffee shop is very bsic. They serve typical diner food and pizza. The couple of times I've been here, I've ordered breakfast food, which was decent. The staff is nice.
i accidentally discovered skillman's one morning when i was really craving pizza and there weren't any other open pizza places on seamless other than skillman's. for some reason, they have three stars on there so i was a little hesitant about ordering from them, but…the things you do for pizza.
to date, skillman's makes the best pizza i have ever had. ever (it's so good that i only order the cheese). the cheese is sharp, the crust is crispy but not too thin, doughy but not too thick, and you get a really good deal for their large (i think with tax, it comes out to ~$13). at other places, the same size probably costs ~$20 or so. my boyfriend loves skillman's because they have his favorite pizza topping: meatballs, so there's that. i'm so sad that i can no longer order from skillman's on a weekly basis because i don't live in the area anymore, but whenever i visit my boyfriend i make it my #1 priority to get one of their cheese pies. can't wait to go back!
Pretty decent pizza place. Pizza definitely is not typical new york thin crust, it seemed almost deep dish style. Crust could have been crispier , it was definitely a bit doughey. Like others have said, ASK for WELL DONE pizza.
Toppings were really fantastic though, really tasted like quality ingredients. The house special for $18 that lets you choose ANY 4 toppings is a great deal.
For being a famous pizza and coffee shop, it seems Skillman's is frequently left out of the Sunnyside pizza conversation. In a hood dominated by Greenpoint and Queens Blvd pizza joints, Skillman's might be the oldest establishment (with exception to Marabella's).
The interior doesn't seem like it'd be that much different from a decade or three ago. While old school is cool to some degree, a serious makeover is definitely worth considering. It's almost like Alpha Donuts, only less interesting.
Their thin crust pizza is definitely different from the rest of the competition. Their plain pie is a classic, a bubbled semi-charred surface with a nice crust and a tangy sauce. Though they have a lot of interesting regular combos (green pepper pizza? garlic pizza? gyro pizza?), the specialty pizzas are where its at. Shrimp pizza? Yes and yes. The Don (chicken + penne), is always fun. I am still an advocate of the meat lovers but any one looking to customize their pizza should look into the house specialty pie (a choice of 4 toppings).
The rest of menu is something like a diner. Pastas, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, pananis, and even breakfast. Chicken curry, huevos rancheros, and fish cakes? Definitely not one's average pizza shop. I'm happy to report the prices are reasonable and service has been decent.
But, there is still some work to be done. Delivery isn't always available and thus pickups are pretty common here. Granted it always works in Chinatown or Jackson Heights, I'm not so sure if the cash only thing works in Sunnyside. Hopefully one of these days they'll be able to embrace the plastic as much as their competition.
This place has got quite the good breakfast serving!
Amazing staff to deliver you a peaceful and comedic morning munch!
Their coffee is perfect and gives you a nice shake to wake you up! I suggest any of their eggs combo!
You can order it however you like it comes in a huge plate, price to ratio is excellent and is very local and has been serving the sunnyside area for quite a while now!
It's definitely a place I'd come to for breakfast!
I normally don't buy breakfast though!
