We recently ordered the Pulled Pork (choice of 2 sides: mash potato and mac & cheese), 2x cornbread (there were raisin in them), soda and water. Total $20.22 (with $3.85 discount).
Being that we were at the outdoors, getting a delivery with no plastic utensils was pretty much a pain. Though my soda came with a plastic cup with ice in it, which was thoughtful consider how hot the day was.
Food was getting cold by the time we found utensils to eat with. Pretty good the first few bites though I believe it was because we were super hungry. What I liked most was the pulled pork and the food portion. The things I liked least was everything else that came with the pulled pork.
Overall, it was a good first try ordering anything from the neighborhood.
Ordered take out, pretty decent meal:
St Louis Ribs – Delicious and meaty. Got the peach sauce and it was great – sweet and tangy. Also got Carolina Gold sauce on the side and it was alright – like mustard mixed with BBQ sauce.
Chicken and Waffles – needed way more sauce, the sandwich was really dry
Fried pickles – awesome. Way different than other places because they are thick cut, but just as good. Loved the sauce they serve with it.
Grilled cheese and tomato soup – The tomato soup was the worst I've ever had – might as well have been water mixed with salsa. Honestly, these guys just need to open a can of Campbell's creamy tomato and be done with it. Disappointing.
Cornbread – awesome. Get it
Cole Slaw – As a coleslaw lover, this had wayy to much bite. One of my leaste favorite coleslaw's ive ever had. Skip it
Potato Salad – pretty standard. Decent, average
I received a menu for Slide by mail. Looked through it and the chicken and waffle sliders were very appealing. Checked them out on Yelp and they had pretty good reviews. I told my husband about the sliders and he was curious too. So we went there for lunch today. We got there around 2:30 and the place was empty. I guess not much of a lunch crowd in this area. I think a lunch special menu will help. The place has a nice atmosphere. Feels like a bbq joint with dark wood furniture and mason jar water glasses. There was only one guy running the place which was more than enough for the hour.
We ordered buffalo wings, chicken and waffle sliders, and classic sliders (add fries for $1.95). The wings were good. They're supposed to be smoked and fried and u do taste the smokiness which is unique and good. Then came our sliders and a little bucket of fries. Nice presentation. Sliders came on a wooden board. The sliders were both very good. The chicken and waffle slider has this asian flavor slaw and the waffle tasted very good. The classic slider also great although may lack a little in the cheese department. I'm not saying that they are overpriced, but they should really throw in the fries without an additional $1.95. It's not like it's a huge amount of fries. How expensive are potatoes for crying out loud??? That would be my only complaint if u wanna call it that. Overall great experience. We'll go back to try the bbq next time.
