Delicious food. Bad service.
The woman I ordered my lunch special oxtail from kept telling me its a very small portion its a very small portion. I half expected her to tell me there's a larger one for ex-amount of dollars but she did not say any more than repeat herself. Then it took forever for her to scoop up the oxtail and rice and beans which I'm pretty sure is already prepared and warmed on their stove. I wasn't a fan of that at all.
The food itself is pretty damn good. Spiced up just so and I do love oxtail, falling off the bone. It is a small portion for a big guy lets say but it was just right and enough for me. I don't like to eat lunch portions that make you comatose after all.
I think people are judging this place harshly because people in this area are, well, let's just say, not used to the Caribbean way of doing things. Yes the service is slow, but you know what, sometimes in life you gotta slow it down a notch.
Onto the food. I think they do the basics really well. The jerk chick with rice and peas, as well as the stewed chicken: really good! If you like spicy ask 'em to lay on some of the jerk hot sauce. Other than that, I tried jerk chicken sandwich once and thought it was a waste, so I think in my next visits I'm just going to stick to the main menu. I hope they get some curried goat soon.
