Mable Townes
I was craving mac n' cheese like crazy (I still am as I'm writing this review actually). Anyway, a few days ago when I went here for the buffet area (because everywhere else was closed), and I finally got my hands on the mac n' cheese I was super duper excited. It looked delicious too!
Now, the problem: THIS WAS SO EXPENSIVE! I opened my mouth in shock to know I was being charged $7 dollars for portion that should roughly cost $4. It was super depressing, and even though the mac n'cheese was pretty decent, it was not worth that much for such a tiny portion.
Nope, never again, there are better options in the area – go to 'essen or toasties instead.
Close by work and there are a lot of options. I come here for breakfast once in a while and the line for hot breakfast is usually really long because it takes the worker forever to make the food. I ordered a platter with turkey bacon, home fries, and eggs over medium last time and it took about 10 minutes to get my order. Really? The turkey bacon and home fries were already pre-made in the food bar.. so all they had to do was make the egg. Foods from the food bar gets weighted afterward to distinguish how much you're going to pay. I will never understand what takes them so long to make an order, but it's pretty good. Although it's just a long wait, it's convenient (right across the street).
They also have a salad bar. My coworker went to get ONLY veggies for lunch last time and he said it cost him $11 for just broccoli and eggplants. I was mind blown. Guess the broccoli and eggplants were really heavy.
Yup. Rating seems right. EXTREMELY overpriced. I go there when i dont want to walk too far from work (right next to my work). I like their donuts which they get from somewhere else i believe.
I would not recommend unless you are in emergency and need a space to eat right there and them. There is seating upstairs.
The whole upstairs is just seating, and i guess to maintain their rent price they have no choice but to charge so much for things..
