  1. We went here because we had a groupon and because its one of the few Halal burger spots in the city, organic Halal meat is difficult to come by!  Their lobster roll was good but not great, but it was nice to start off with something while waiting for our beast burgers!!  The burgers were a pleasant surprise, delicious and huge, cooked just the way we asked for them.  The selection is overwhelming, you can cater your burger exactly the way you want, mix and match toppings, sauces, rolls etc The smokey burger, the big boss deluxe and the cabana deluxe are all really really good. An appetizer, two burgers with fries and  we both were stuffed and quite satisfied, even for the cash price, though it may be on the higher end of the spectrum versus other burger places, it met our demands and expectations quite nicely.  Would not mind going back here at all.  Seating is kinda tight, narrow in width and small tables so if people are sitting next to you, you'll feel as if you're eating with them and not next to them.

  2. Now this place was an absolute treat. Halal fare at its finest. I had to have the Smokey Burger with steak fries. I died and went to Jannah (not really but I like being drama). Cooked to perfection, medium-rare, I enjoyed every bite of this delicious burger. Extremely expensive for a gourmet burger. But it was definitely an experience. I'd love to come back and try their bison burger. My mouth is watering just thinking about it 🙂

  3. The burger was pretty good for my millionth burger. Brioche roll was standard as I expected from a place that has "burger" in the name. My burger was cooked to perfection. I'm taking away a couple of stars because I ordered more than just a burger, and the rest of my order was given to another patron by accident. I was so into my conversation and company that I didn't even notice at first, but near the end of the meal the waitress came over and gave us the rest of the food we originally ordered. I was done here.

  4. I had an excellent experience and pros definitely outweighed the cons because the cons are easily fixable. I also wanted to balance the terrible reviews so this gets out of the 3-star gutter because that's definitely  unwarranted according to my personal experience.

This is a small hole-in-a-wall spot (literally, with brick around you and no more than 25 capacity). But it's NYC, and these have the most charm in my opinion.

The place was nicely decorated and had a large flat-screen TV if you want to get your World Cup fix the next month or so.

The service was great and very friendly. The burgers took about 20 minutes but it's not fast food people!… I would wonder if it came faster than that. We ordered onion rings after having downed our burgers and just cancelled those or maybe they forgot them.. We weren't sure. But, the place was packed and it was understandable. I also think the onion rings were beer battered so if you don't want that- keep that in mind! They make it clear on the menu though.

We had two Smokey Burgers… (Each were around $21-$23 I believe). But Organic, halal fresh double beef patties with a whole grain bun- I'm all in.

You could not taste  the beef (as sometimes you do depending on freshness and seasoning).

The burgers were large and very filling (but not the heavy and can't move/walk point).

The actual Smokey Burger was great with mushrooms (perfectly seasoned and cooked) and caramelized onions. It was topped with their chipotle sauce which was also delish. We added cheddar cheese to it, and I had a whole grain bun rather than their brioche bun but both looked great.

The ONE minor thing I would change is it could have had more salt but that's a personal preference.

Their whole grain buns were awesome and hearty. Sweet potato fries were the best I've had in a while… Large and crunchy on the outside with actual sweet potato awaiting you on the inside. I preferred it to their potato fries.

The mozzarella sticks were also pretty good as was their chicken quesadilla. But the winning items were the burgers we had.

Not everything is as expensive as the Smokey Burger so you can get one for $13-$15.

Definitely stop by, ask for more chipotle sauce for your burger and fries, and enjoy a reallllly good burger.

  5. This space is shared by One Thai Chef-they share similar staff as well. I got a beef burger and you have your choice of cheeses and sauces. I got a slice of american cheese which is $2.00 extra. The beverage choices are limited since they share the same beverages as One Thai chef. The space is narrow, once again like a long hallway and the burger was good and the service prompt. I would recommend and return.

  6. The line at Shake Shack was really long Sunday night and I needed a burger. Was walking past this place on the way to my trusted diner on 8th ave. Let's face it, the big ass ORGANIC sign catches anyone's eye in this shit show of a hood so the fact it had the word BURGER after it sold me. Dining solo, as per usual, the blond, eastern European server told me I could sit anywhere in the joint and I chose the table closest to the t.v., far from the herd who sat near the entrance. I just wanted to be left alone with my meat. Pause.

    The food:

The menu resembles Bare Burger in style and layout. You have different versions of predetermined topping burgers with suggested protein for that particular type of burger (lamb for this style, turkey for that style, bison etc..)These burgers started in the low teens in $ and topped off in the low $20's depending on the specialty accoutrements. Didn't want a fancy burger so I got a plain lamb burger at the same 6 oz size as the ones used for the specialty burgers but at half the price. Score.

Now, I asked for the burger med with only onions and tomatos on whole wheat. In a perfect world it would come as asked. Instead, I got it with ketchup and pickles. I only use ketchup on fries and even then, only on bad French fries. I never put ketchup on my any meat. That shate is for kids and peasents.

So, the burger was aight. Not good. Not bad. Just aight.

    The service:

Not gonna lie, when I read the reviews on this place, the service and it's bad highlights was all I remembered when I sat down. So, I was bracing myself. They seemed to single out this one blond server with "the accent". Well, I can only assume it was the blond eastern European woman that I had. I can see why some people might find her cold and off putting. Maybe, I'm used to this kind of personality having lived here for so long. Russians are like this. So are Chinese and Koreans. And by that, I'm talking about on a social level, so I guess I kind of know they don't mean to be cold, that's just the way they "look". Hey, as long as you fill my water up, check on my on occasion and are pleasant within reason, I'm fine. She was an average server as far as i'm concerned. Not exceptional, but not bad either.

    Verdict:

Lets face it, there are too many better options in the area. I was just really lazy that day to go any further then the next block. Then again Shake Shack could be too long of a wait again for me and if I find myself lazy and too tired to walk further, then I would come back.  But, I wouldn't head here for any other reason then the last sentence

  7. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now so I'm glad I finally got the chance. I had the chicken burger with chipotle sauce on a whole grain bun. The burger was good; probably not the best I've ever had but I liked it. The flavors blended nicely together and it wasn't messy to eat. My boyfriend had the sweet potato fries which I had a few of; they're really good. The prices can be a little high depending on what you order but I guess that's what you pay for real food. Waitress was attentive and they have outside seating, which is nice in the warmer months. I don't think it's better than Bareburger but it's a good option for healthy food.

  8. My sister brought me here for a birthday lunch on Saturday. YUMMY!!!!! The organic burgers we had were sooo good! She had bought a group-on for the restaurant so the selection was a little smaller than the full menu but they still had a robust amount of food choices.
    FOOD:
    My sister had:
The 3 Musketeers Burger with the Onion Rings and a Ginger Soda
    I had:
The YOUNG WILD & FREE DELUXE with the Sweet Potato Fries and an Organic Vanilla Milkshake……..(yes my butt will jiggle for 2 weeks….. but that's ok)

    ATMOSPHERE:
We went in the early afternoon, around 4pm, and were 1 of 3 groups. The interior was very nice and made of all wood products which gave it an nice-warm and earthly feeling.

    SERVICE:
The servers were attentive and quick.

    BATHROOMS:
Normally I would not put this on a review BUT! I must. The problem with going to Hells Kitchen to eat is that sometimes the buildings are a bit on the old side structurally and you end up freezing in the bathroom. NOT HERE! It was nice and toasty! BIG +

    Will be going back 🙂
