  1. What do you get when you mix the 3 hottest trends (shave ice/thai rolled ice cream/egg waffle ice cream) together?  A freaking HOT Mess!

Snow & Cream is a cute little place in the "up & coming" sunset park hood of Brooklyn.  There's been a slew of boutique type eateries popping up like when every corner had a GAP (remember?) or Starbucks! Well this neighborhood is changing and it's good.

Service: pretty much order, pay & sit – doesn't require it.

My review is solely based on the taste of the ice cream treats… It was lack luster and bland.  The Thai rolled ice cream was lacking in everything from the showmanship, texture, taste to the mediocre toppings (how is it possible to give tasteless red beans? It literally comes in a can drown in sugary syrup! From a store!), the shape of the roll were lopsided… We got the cookie & cream for the Thai rolled ice cream and Thai ice tea flavor for the shaved ice.  Both tasted just like ice particles and not creamy at all.   Snow & Cream is also stingy with their toppings… That's just sad.

Well this experience left us disappointed and craved the better versions at 10Below & Snowdays… Seriously, trends only work if you put the effort into your treats!

    Happy feasting fellow Yelpers!

  2. I came here with friends after dinner. I was too full so I didn't get to try their desserts, but I try their drinks. My friends called for an Earl Grey Lavender, Black Mango and I got a Thai Ice Tea. All the drinks were meh; not that great. It was either too sweet, bitter, or had a weird taste to it. It was my friend's second time getting drinks from this place and she did not like it. Note to self that I will not be getting any drinks from here anymore. Also… my friends and I were dying in here because there was no air conditioning whatsoever. It was probably like 100 degrees out, but the air conditioning was not running. I was dying to leave the place because I was sweating while sipping on my overly sweet thai ice tea.

However, their decor is pretty nice. They have an outdoor garden seating in the back which is nice and cute. I'll be back for their shaved ice and ice cream rolls, but as for now… definitely no drinks. I looked at their menu and there were combos were I can get shaved ice and ice cream rolls; not a bad deal since you can try both with a reasonable price!

  3. I typically don't hand out in my neighborhood because there's not a lot of cool places to go to. There are a lot of places to grab bubble tea and snacks but no where to really sit down and widdle time away.

My cousin told me about Snow & Cream, which is super close to my house. I stopped in with a friend on a Saturday afternoon to learn that they literally serve everything! From Thai ice cream to snow/shave ice to waffle ice cream sundaes to bubble tea/coffee. Just imagine all the cool places in Manhattan smushed into one cafe in Brooklyn!

They have some seating in the front as well as more seating in the back and a outdoor garden area. Lots of seating and a pretty cool decor with a nautical/nature theme. The Spotify playlist was on point and my Thai tea Thai ice cream was really good. They let you add whatever syrup for free and additional topics are extra.

  4. I liked the rolled ice cream, I liked the ambiance, parking is rough, seating is tight, the staff is nice, its a young asian crowd, but I would say this place rivals 10 below and is the closest place i could find that serves this kind of ice cream. Ice cream must have been very very cold, because it didn't melt right away

  5. I am in love with this place!

    It has all 3 of the main hypes going on right now;
    Shaved Ice
    Thai rolled ice
    Waffle cake

This is a trap for dessert lovers like me!
I walked in not expecting much, sure they could make all 3 of the highly hyped current ice cream trends but can they match the original competitors?
I ordered the Earl Grey shaved ice with grass jelly and red bean. Snow & Cream shaved ice is much more softer compared to Snowdays. I do wish they had the mushed up red bean instead of actual red beans as a topping. They did add free pocky to my ice cream, which i thought was really sweet of them.

Though Snowdays might beat Snow & Cream for shaved ice just by a little, the decor in Snow & cream stole my heart! It's a super cute place to catch up with friends or for a date. They have a bookshelf filled with books and other adorable room decors. The greatest part? An outdoor backyard! So perfect for the summer nights.

I cant wait to return to Snow & Cream and try out their other creations.

  6. I've been a relatively loyal 10below fan … also because I worked there for a short period of time, but I heard about a durian flavor ice cream roll here so I had to try it!

The cashier is right where you walk in – there is a case of pastries past the cashier that you might miss before ordering, because I did. They had a number of crepe cakes such as green tea, vanilla, durian, mango.

We came for durian, we went for the durian crepe cake ($6.50). We also ordered the Prince Durian ice cream rolls ($6.00) with condensed milk (free). They charged $.50 per topping, unlike 10below which has unlimited free toppings, so, I did not order any. I was also feeling a drink so I ordered a hot lychee tea latte ($3.50), and my boyfriend ordered iced rose tea latte ($4.50). Sounded interesting!

We got our drinks first. Now, a latte typically calls for steamed milk which makes lattes rich and creamy. Both the iced and hot was flatter than my damn wall. I felt like I was drinking some instant rose tea powder with water-added only. The rose one was pink-ish so I guess it looked rose-y and tasted rose-y. The lychee one… like honestly I had no clue what flavor that was because it did not taste like lychee. And… my hot latte was less warm than lukewarm… it made me sad. Not a great first impression. My expectations were low.

The cake came after. They threw it on a plate from the display along with 2 blueberries. It was cute I guess. They tried, but not really… Anyway the cake was underwhelming in terms of flavor. The durian flavor was very subtle, almost plain. The cake's texture was not bad – fluffy but not grossly moist.

The ice cream rolls came next with 2 free pocky sticks! This somewhat redeemed the place. The durian rolls had much more durian flavor. It tasted quite good. It was creamy. We ended up throwing the rolls on the plate of cake to eat it together.

I'd probably be back for the durian rolls one day, and to probably try a different crepe cake. But the drinks… no way jose.

  7. Only dropped by for a small treat after lunch and ordered a shaved snow ice and hot tea. Cute interior with bookshelves lined up on the walls with decor. Very much resembles Caffe Bene. There were back yard seating but we stay at the front end. One stop for all type of dessert place. From Thai ice cream rolls and shaved snow ice to egg waffles. Only thing is that they need to find their own identity and master it. Don't try to be like others. Make your own brand and stand out.

-Sesame frenzy: Yay to the yellow and green changing spoons. The shaved snow ice was comparable to snowdays texture but flavor still haven't exceed theirs. I liked the assorted flavored mochi on top and fresh sliced strawberries. The waffle was alright, nothing special.

-Lavender tea: sweetened floral scented tea. Very nice to enjoy. Can't go wrong with that.

  8. Came here to try their egg waffel ice cream and was a bit disappointed. I bought their special which is the red bean waffel. The batter was thick which is understandably so since it surprisingly had actual red beans inside (surprising because I thought it would be red bean flavored waffles rather than traditional batter with red beans inside). The batter was so thick however that it was difficult to cut out each puff with my spoon. The green tea ice cream had a thick texture as well, maybe it would be better to have used Gelato or more soft churned ice cream. The strawberry and mango toppings tasted fresh and the Nutella sauce was delicious as well. It was all presented in a plastic cup which i found hard to dig out the waffel puffs with ice cream since it was a bit cramped to maneuver my spoon in. Perhaps they should switch to a paper cone or something. I also tried the frozen summit with is iced tea which tasted a little too watered down lacking  a much needed stronger tea flavor. There's plenty of space for seating and the staff seemed friendly.
