Awesome shaved cream. Basically it is a block of ice cream that is shaved into a delicious thin and fluffy dessert. They have a vegan coconut flavor and lots of vegan toppings. Great place to enjoy dessert with dairy and non dairy folks.
The coconut shaved cream is solid and does not compromise in taste at all. I paired it with red bean for some awesome Asian dessert flavors.
On the pricey side. $6 for a regular without toppings. However the portion is pretty huge!! Might need to share.
They have both preset menu items as well as the ability to customize your own dessert (choosing your choice of base and other toppings)
Will definitely return for a great non dairy treat.
Been meaning to try Snowdays for the longest time. I'm into ice cream (especially flavors that aren't too sweet) and I love shaved ice, but I've never had shaved cream so I didn't know what to expect. I'm glad I finally made it here now though.
Snowday offers a perfect treat for a hot sunny day. They have sizes ranging from regular $5, large $7 & yeti $10. Including different flavors to choose from and toppings running from $.50 – $.75 each and drizzle sauce for the finishing touch . I wanted a unique flavor so I opted for the Yetittracks and created a combo. The shaved ice itself had this well balanced fluffiness texture to it; it wasn't too creamy, yet not that icy either. The toppings tasted like any other places that offer froyo etc. … but there's nothing like walking into a dessert/ ice-cream spot with a cute, friendly looking yeti smiling at you from the wall.
I came here on a really hot day and there was a lot of people. However, the line wasn't long and seats weren't hard to find. The best part of the experience here (other than trying shaved cream for the first time) was being able to relive my childhood again by using the spoon that changes color as the temperature drops. It's all about the little things in life.
I cannot wait to come back and try other flavors (& the ones on the secret menu).
I don't usually dock points for poor service because I care more about the food over anything else. However, my experience here was pretty offensive so I couldn't help but give 2 stars.
I got here around 10pm on a Tuesday night and there is a short but slow line because only one guy is working. When it was my turn, I asked what the secret flavor is for this location (a secret I learned from the Flushing Yelp event). I was told it's watermelon and naturally, I asked for a sample since I've never tried it before. I was told very rudely and repeatedly that snow days doesn't do samples. Like, I should've known better to ask. Don't I know what watermelon tastes like??? (He actually said that). The nerve of me to ask!!! I was really appalled because I've always had such great experiences at the east village and flushing locations. I would've left but my friend really wanted Snowdays so I stuck around.
As we waited for the slow service, it was hard to choose a table to sit at because all the tables were dirty with some form of melted shaved ice on them. Gross. This is really the worst managed and most unsanitary Snowdays…and it's the least busy one!!
I would never come back here, I rather walk all the way cross town to east village or not have shaved ice at all!
It's shaved CREAM not shaved ice!
Sizes $5/7/9 plus extra for toppings and drizzles. I like how they have special flavors instead of just the sweet cream. I would def go back to try coconut (they were sold out at 2…)
Medium size is too much for me, especially if you are adding toppings. But it's the only size that you can have two different flavors.
Been waiting years to try snowdays! Finally walked by it after dinner one hot evening and ordered the Made In Taiwan – green tea shaved ice, condensed milk, grass jelly, and mochi.
The shaved ice is like nothing I've tried before. Unlike the watery icy ones in ktown, snowdays is soft and fluffy, more like "spun" ice. Texture is super interesting. The green tea flavor wasn't as strong as I expected, probably due to the airiness of the shaved ice. They have quite a generous amount of toppings, and I liked the grass jelly a lot.
Next time I would probably try another flavor (like yeti tracks or black sesame) and forego the toppings. I mainly enjoyed this place for the texture of shaved ice! It is more on the expensive side ($5 for a small for a lot of air) but I think the uniqueness makes it worth it as an occasional treat.
This place is amazing!!! I still don't really understand what it is or how it's done but I really liked it and can't wait to go back. Here's how it works. First, you choose a base. Their flavors change regularly. I got the Yeti and the sweet cream. Honestly, they both kind of tasted the same. I tried some of the green tea and that had a stronger green tea flavor. I think I liked the sweet cream the best. Then you choose your toppings. It's 50-75 cents per topping. I got the mochi which I really enjoyed. They also have your typical ice cream toppings and fruit as well. Then, you choose your drizzle. You get one drizzle free! Extras are like 50 cents. I got the strawberry drizzle which was fantastic. It tasted like real strawberry, not the super sweet high-fructose corn syrup stuff. Then you eat! It's light and fluffy. It's not too heavy like real ice cream but it's just a lot of fun to eat. Definitely check out Snowdays!
Make you're own for $5!
Love the customization and how when you're eating it, it feels a bit healthy haha.
Great service. Not exactly like what you would get t a chamecha in Toronto, but the next best thing.
Open seats and there are some outside.
Overall great place and I would come again if I was in the area ^^
Shaved ice – ice cream. I had the Made in Taiwan ice cream. The grass jelly was slightly bitter, worked well with the sweet shaved ice cream.
The ice cream was matcha green tea…
The Mochi was a little too sweet. My friend is saying this shop tastes better than grace street near Korean town.
