Came here for the lunch Buffett. I was a bit nervous walking in bc the place was completely empty and the food still had foil over it. They did not have too many choices and everything was very salty. The best thing was the naan, but then again that was salty as well. The chicken tikka masala was average, and for some reason they had French fries as part of the Buffett :/ overall, not a great experience, but the service was great (probably bc I was the only person there). I guess you get what you pay (8.99)
Same order as before. The delivery person was friendly. (I called in my order) It arrived in 45 mins as described. Naan was good and cooked well.
Tasty spiced well. Garlic Naan Palak Chana, Lentil Soup, Tandori mixed grill.
the TMG was cooked perfect. Tasty, moist.. Well done.
It is my go to place.
I normally don't enjoy eating curries, and sometimes just the smell of the spices makes me want to throw up. But I was recently introduced to a dish called Chicken Shahi Korma, and that is probably the only curry dish I will ever eat. If you know what Malaysian curry is, then you will know what shahi korma tastes like. It's very creamy and not too "curry" if that makes sense.
I normally order my chicken shahi korma from a place in Midtown but I also wanted a good place near where I live and a co-worker recommended this place, which is near hubby's work place.
So last Friday, we ordered my chicken shahi korma, and his goat curry to go. With 3 pieces of naan (not included), the meal came out to be about $25! Pretty damn pricey considering the neighborhood, plus the fact that I can get this same meal in the city for around $11!!
We ordered mild, and it was STILL pretty spicy, so becareful if you are not good with spices!
I don't think we'd come back again, due to price and value.
Their food is very good, I will give them that, but their overall service and demeanor need a lot of work. I ordered food for delivery just now, and it's a $20 minimum which is ridiculous. Second, I live around the corner and the guy got lost – a neighborhood place should always know the neighborhood. Also, their delivery person does not keep much change on them – if you deliver, you should always have lots of change. I basically had to give him an extra 3 dollars he didn't deserve because I had no other choice. Lastly, I ordered two dishes, both which came with rice. There was no rice in my delivery and I am making my own right now. Overall, great food, but I feel royally gipped.
Update: Ro C and I keep going back here. Usually we do take out which takes forever, but today we sat in and the service was fast. We were surprised. Let me just tell you this, despite the slowness of you food, it is most definitely worth the wait.
Had dinner here last night with my husband and his son, we had a bit if a language barrier with the female waitress, but she was very nice and the manager came to the tanks to help. We had the meat samosas and they very very good . We also ordered vegetable pakora which was crispy and tasty.. I ordered Naan with raisins which they made special. It was crispy sweet and hot. We also ordered garlic naan and a bread I just call puffy bread because it comes to the table all puffed up like a balloon. It's fried and really tasty. The entree of chicken curry was very good, but the entree of chicken tiki masala was more bell pepper than chicken. The sauce was very food, just not much chicken. The rice was kind of average, I have had better at other Indian restaurants. The rice lacked flavor and no aroma. It was merely a vessel for the tiki masala sauce.
We also ordered the Mediterranean salad (I think that's what it was called) Beware of this salad, it's beautiful but it's full of jalapeño and it's spicy. I like spicy but it was a bit hot for me
My husband ordered rice pudding for dessert which was very soupy, not the standard American version. He said it was very good, but if you are a thick rice pudding fan you probably will not like this. His son ordered the Rasmali for the dessert and said it was great. Super sweet with all of the sweetened condensed milk.
They were very prompt with water refills and there is a big screen tv that is constantly playing Bollywood movies. They do not have a dinner buffet, so don't come for a buffet. The buffet is only at lunch.
I gave the rating a 3 because of the minuscule amount of chicken in the two orders of chicken tiki masala. They had a lot of to go orders while we were there.
