  1. Great variety, healthy options, reasonably priced with friendly service.  I'd recommend going there over ordering in, as it can get a little soggy by the time you get the food delivered.  Definitely one of my go-to breakfast spots.

  2. Waiting on people can be a drag, but if you happen to be hanging out anywhere near here,  do drop in. The soups and bread are worth it alone. I enjoy a well made salad and here they make it any way you like it. You name the topping and they have it. I ordered a spinach base, sun dried tomatoes, beets, chickpeas, blue cheese and a balsamic vinegarette. so good.  Yup, I'll be back.

  3. Stopped in after an appointment to grab a salad. The menu is extensive and is sort of pseudo healthy. You know the places that tout egg white omelettes, filled with feta cheese and tomato with home fries and toast. I guess this is for people who are carb friendly but egg white averse. You can get fresh squeezed juice and smoothies, pancakes and all assortment of wraps including a Mexican style wrap with salsa, avocado, chicken in a jalapeño wrap,

I like two things the "protein salad" – $10.25. Which  has field greens, chickpeas, kidney beans, walnuts, red onion and tomato tossed in a sweetish balsamic dressing. It is a huge portion and the hot diced chicken pieces are very well cooked. It's enough for two or one hungry body builder.

Chicken on the greens is basically what it sounds like with a little Italian flair with pecorino Romano and red onion. It also comes with a balsamic vinaigrette.

Would I order take out or stop by regularly if I lived in Astoria? NO, I can do faux healthy all by myself. With that said, the service is lighting fast /Santa's elf quick.

And, while it may not be health food (despite being connected to a gym). It is fresh, well executed, healthier, lighter, diner fare.  Maybe diner is too strong a word. It's like if gas station food looked in real life the way it does in the pictures. It is great option for kids or a quick bite before heading on the train back to Manhattan.

  4. Its hard to find a make your own salad bar in Queens for some reason they are only in the city. I was very happy when my gym buddy told me about this place. I had the cobb salad and it was fresh and huge. it had so much chicken that I had to leave some behind. I will for sure be coming back

  5. after eating here a countless number of times, i have come to a point where i can list the top three things that one must try when eating at this place:

    -sweet potato fries
-whole wheat pancakes with blueberries and strawberries (the fruit is cooked into the batter…yum)
    -salad (huge portions, awesome price)

great food at very reasonable prices.

  6. My Fav salad place in Astoria. Lentil soup and a nice salad was on todays menu. My mom loves their wings ( no sauce) and lentil soup. Salads r fresh & you can create your own salad. Portions r huge so you wont leave hungry. They also have a juice bar. Teas, hot chocolates & coffees are served in a huge cup 🙂 everyone there is extremly friendly.

  7. I probably went here 40+ times when I lived in Astoria. It's conveniently by the N train, on the way home from bike rides, by The Rock, etc.

This place is very hit or miss. I love their selection..a huge salad bar, paninis, entrees, breakfast and more. They also have an awesome juicer that I ordered from constantly.

You get sloppy food sometimes though – a breakfast wrap with a pound of cheese, over/undercooked chicken in salads, things like that. Many of the employees and the manager are very friendly, but you also get attitude from some of the guys when they get busy.

Despite some of these issues, if I lived nearby, I would be back another 30-40 times, or at least until I owned a commercial grade, jet fuel-powered juicer.

  8. Love this "make your own" salad place in Astoria , queens. The salads are great and their freshly made juices are delicious as well. The few times that I've sat in Service has been on point as well.
