Dropped in here for lunch with a friend. They have a lunch special that includes a soup/salad/app of the day, choice of protein and a dish to put it in (either rice or noodle), and choice of basic drink. It doesn't appear that you can just order an entree, as it would come as a whole price, but it seemed like a good deal.
We both started with the salads with a peanut dressing. It was a thick dressing that was drizzled over the veggies like mayo from subway. Again, it was a thick peanut dressing. It did have a strong peanut butter taste, and it was good, but just thick and hard to mix into the salad. If a bit more acid was mixed into the dressing it would thin it out and help to more easily incorporate it into the salad.
I had the red curry with bamboo shoots, chicken and white rice. It was delish! The menu said it was medium heat, and I am heat intolerant, but I was pleasantly surprised it was within my realm of enjoyable heat (to most others it would not be spicy at all). It was rich and creamy, but beautifully fragrant from the spices.
Another and last joy to this place was the hot tea. Usually it is served in a small, three sip cup, but here they give you a full mug. Great way to enjoy the meal.
How is it not until 2 years AFTER I graduated from FIT (which is literally 100 ft. away) that I tried this place?! Totally regretting all those times that I walked back to campus past Songkran and just breezed right by…
A friend recently recommended this place for dinner and I'm so glad she did. I had actually never had Thai food before that night (shudder) but I loved everything! I got the green curry chicken and loved it. I also ordered the red curry chicken to go to bring home for my boyfriend and I loved that even more than mine! Can't wait to go back and try some new things 🙂
The lunch special is a good deal, yes. But this is some of the blandest, most Americanized Thai food I've ever had. It's not only not spicy, but not flavorful and is clearly prepared only half-heartedly.
This place was a huge dissapointment. I came here with a coworker and they mixed up my order. Then they gave me the wrong bill. To put the icing on the cake, the workers were rude the whole time and even took away my plate even though I wasnt done yet.
This place is just so consistent, and it's great. I come here at least 2-3 times a month for lunch since it's convenient to my office and they have a great lunch deal. The restaurant is always busy during lunch hours, but you can always get a table for 2 or 3. For just $9 bucks you get an appetizer, entrée & soda. It's a limited menu, but there are plenty of options. The portions are good size and the food is tasty.
Between my coworkers and I, we've had just about everything on the lunch menu. My go-to dish is the peanut noodle or classic Pad Thai, both with chicken.
The service is quick and you can easily be in and out in 40 minutes or less. The house salad has a really yummy peanut dressing. My one complaint about this place, the "app of the day" cannot always be fried tofu! Change it up. If it's a "daily" app, it's been fried tofu for a year now!
Are there any bad Thai restaurants in NYC? We lived in LA for a decade but not really sure their numerous options are up to snuff on average.
Anyways, we really enjoyed this place. We ordered take-out which is our tradition when it's way too cold to go out. I'd say overall there's a wee bit more attention to detail here than is typical. For instance their Thai chicken wings actually seemed to have been brined…
We weren't in the mood for noodles so we got all entrees. There food also seems to be a bit vegetable heavy which was perfect for us. Everything was tasty. We'll go again.
Went here with a party of a five on a Friday night. Friendly very efficient service. The crispy shrimp rolls were long, thin, and unique. Served in a wine glass.
The crispy pork was delicious. The spicy coconut sticky rice was a great complement. The chicken pad thai's looked great and the chicken soup looked huge.
Overall, the portion sizes were large which goes to the value. You really got a lot for your money here.
The sauces paired with each dish were really tasty. Someone knows what their doing with each of them. One sauce was a sweet chili sauce, really tasty.
The thai tea was also very good, despite me living under a rock with never having it before.
I'd definitely recommend this place.
Not bad, if you're stuck in this area and have no other choices. Avoid the crab fried rice. Actually, if you can, just come here for dessert. Their purple mango sticky rice dessert is AMAZING and I sort of wished that I could have had three of them for my meal.
