“It is the best cheap chinese spot I have found on the UWS, and highly recommend it especially if you can grab one of the lunch specials!”

“Another thing I'd like to point out is that they are located in the Upper West Side YET they deliver as far up as Washington Heights!”

  1. What is it about Chinese take-out places…a lot of the time, the worse they look, the better the food tastes.  I did no research before walking in and placing my take-out order.  I just used the same logic I just mentioned, it looked like shit so the food must be good.

I did the usual…didn't look around too much,  I didn't want to see things that would turn me off or tune me in to what might really be going on (or not) cleanliness wise.  I just read my Timeout NY magazine and waited.  The prices were average, not expensive and not super cheap.  They were pretty quick to prepare my order.

When I got back to the apartment and unpacked everything, I was happy to see how jam packed the quart of low mien was…the combination Sesame chicken only had 3 tiny pieces of broccoli.  That was easy to forget once I started eating the chicken and brown rice…very tasty, nice and sweet, just what I was craving.  The egg rolls were on the smaller side, but good and not too greasy.

If you want good Chinese and you don't care if the place looks like a health inspector's nightmare, place your order and enjoy.

  2. This review is strictly for delivery…

I hung up less than 10 minutes ago and they showed up with my order, cooked exactly how I asked (I asked for house special fried rice instead of pork fried rice and no peas and carrots- not a typical order they can have ready in advance)

Delivery was VERY fast, food piping hot and good.

  3. Yummy, quick, greasy. A Grub Hub stand-by for when I am starving and broke…their delivery minimum is only $6!

Tonight I ordered the beef with string beans and garlic sauce combo thingy. It came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. Even though they describe it as a "small" portion…it's pretty large. Easily two meals, or good to share between two people.

The pork fried rice didn't have any egg in it. =(
But it did have lots of tasty bits of pork, peas and carrots!

The garlic sauce on the string beans and beef was pretty generic tasting…but good nonetheless.

I'll probably be ordering from them again!
