  1. Needing to escape JFK for a quick bite to eat before waiting for my flight, I turned to Yelp for the best recommendations in this area. With the immediate vicinity being swamplands, this was the closest location to visit timely.

It's a really cool little place. The staff is bubbly, and menu is welcoming. It varies by day, but had the regular staple Caribbean foods. While we sat there and ate the jerk chicken, we saw many customers come and go. It's a popular restaurant with yummy food, and despite its seemingly sketchy location, it's a great escape for fantastic Caribbean food. I thoroughly enjoyed the jerk chicken, which comes with rice and vegetables. For the price, convenience, and flavor, five stars.

  2. That food was so disgusting…..omg
I order jerk chicken which tasted like carboard & white rice with curry goat….ewwww.
I couldn't believe what I was eating. No flavor, no color in the meat and unseasoned. I felt like it needed some sazon or at least salt.
It took so long to get my food. Next time I will stick to Golden Crust.
I do not know.smh. I gave the food to my dog.

    Total bill $15…..

  3. Food was definitely excellent! Good flavor and decent portions. Like all spots similar to here, there is the usual long wait but well worth it.
I've tried some other spots in the area and this is for sure the best of the group.
I'll throw in the 5th star if it either gets a little quicker or the portions get a little more bigger!!

  4. I came to this spot to pick up food for a relative. She said to get the jerk chicken with rice and vegetables. Says it should be $7. As opposed to just the jerk chicken which is $6. Awkward pricing, but better for the public. Anyway, I get there and walk up to the counter to order and nobody is paying attention to me. In fact, I feel like I'm being completely ignored. I patiently wait until I get acknowledged and finally a woman goes to take my order but then takes another person ahead of me that I guess she knew. So I get served by a different woman. I order the medium jerk chicken. The other women who took someone before me rings me up. She charges me for a large. I realize bc of the small amount of change I get back. I tell her this and she says I told her large. I respond no I said medium. We go back and forth over the change. She gives me $2 back. I explain to her that makes no sense whatsoever because I paid with a $20. Finally she gets it and gives me an additional $10 back. I was so annoyed. I brought the food to my aunt and it was good. That's the only reason I'm giving this place any stars, because the service is mediocre.

  5. Decided to try this place out based on all the Jerk Chicken reviews. This is a small restaurant. The Jerk chicken is D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!!!! As previous reviews stated you have the option to get it "regular" or spicy. The sauce is sooooo good!!!! The portions they give you are also huge! We decided to order the Large Jerk Chicken, side small order of Mac-n-cheese and some Coco Bread. Yes i know Coco bread, but hey i wanted some lol. Once i tried the Jerk Chicken i was able to pick myself back in the Bahamas eating it from the locals. WOW! It was fresh and you can taste the smoky flavor Jerk Chicken must ALWAYS have.  They seemed busy even though is was only 3pm on a Tuesday.  The Mac-n-Cheese was ok nothing spectacular. The Coco bread was definitely better than Golden Crust.  So we will be returning here for the Jerk Chicken maybe try something else as well. Definitely a place to go when craving island food.

  6. I frequent a lot of Jamaican places nearby and I have become a regular at St. Best.

The lines are always out of the door and they're always busy so I recommend calling ahead. I go on Mondays for the chicken soup it's the best I've ever hd, tastes just like my grandma's.

I am not a fan of their peas and rice, it gets hard if you don't eat it eight away but I definitely recommend their jerk chicken. Without rhe sauce, it isn't that great but it's well cooked.

The staff is nice and pleasant, the place is clean but the neighborhood isn't good for parking and it's not a good eat in spot because it is always over crowded.

  7. They either read my previous review or have just seen my face too many times. The service here has changed! Not drastically but at least now I get a hi from some of the cashiers. Theyve even gone as far as having light conversation with me. Wow! I have a better experience when I come here now.

Four stars for the improvements in service and the food I get being consistently great. Jerk chicken with lots of sweet sauce, curry shrimp (beware its spicy), red pea soup, pigeon pea soup and chicken soup are always on point. And I've come for soup after 730 and gotten it (win!) Nomore running out soup by 6 Hooray!

I've noticed they started selling additional items. I'm pretty sure it's just whatever the chef feels like for the day. I've seen codfish fritters, sliced bun and cheese, and today they had sliced packaged fruit so it is pretty random.

    Come check them out
