Pleasant and informative staff; cheap prices; discount card. Great experience! They also have an extremely high end selection of whiskeys. I stopped in on a whim and will now make it my go-to store!
This shop is open later than most which starts this review off on a good foot.
I came in looking for some drinks for a party; I ended up picking up a prosecco for around $13, an apple cider flavored whiskey for around $25, and a bottle of soju for $7.
The guys here are fairly nice, although a bit assertive in their recommendations. They did a good job of explaining my options though and we also had a nice chat about calvados versus apple cider whiskey. Many of their options come chilled so be sure to ask before you leave with a luke warm bottle.
A fantastic shop for some quality booze.
On a recent visit to NYC, we came across this store on the way to our lunch destination. We were interested in purchasing some local whiskey to take home and made sure to stop by on the way back (thanks to a friend who remembered that we wanted to stop here, we almost walked by it since we were so full from lunch).
The shop is small, but narrow and with high shelves to store their delicious products. When the owner(?) knew that we were looking specifically for local, small batch whiskeys, he lead us to several makes and had interesting things to share about each. Due to their license, they cannot provide samples, but he did a great job of explaining the flavor and tied it with the scent (we were able to smell a couple bottles, yum!).
We left with several bottles of 3 different kinds of whiskey. Pricing seemed fair for what we are used to paying, plus the luxury of not having access to this product otherwise (not that I checked since getting home).
And now, weeks later, we are wondering if they ship. DO YOU SHIP?

I was totally expecting another generic liquor store. You know, the basic booze in plastic bottles that gets the job done. The Yelp photos, however, implied that they had a few of my old "natural wine favorites" (the Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir) so I thought that I should give it a whirl.
In order to prep for this nasty blizzard, I trudged through the hail and found myself in the most beautiful shop. The friendly staff offered suggestions, and here I am. Three bottles in hand, and I can't wait until I need to restock. They have some great finds, including some local New York liquors. Although not all of the wine is necessarily boutique wine (a handful could be found at Trader Joe's) I was really, truly impressed by the price range. St. Marks Liquor is very fairly priced and they will guarantee you a good bottle.

not only is the staff super friendly, they're very knowledgable and not snotty. and even though I've never been able to make it to one of their tastings, I'm always excited to hear about all the events they have going on.
The young man in this store was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about his spirits. My friend was visiting from out of town and wanted to purchase a local whisky for her husband. The guy (didn't get his name) told us all about the different offerings they had and helped her pick out the perfect gift. He even printed an article for us that provided more details on the whisky she had purchased.
We were extremely happy with the serviceability here.
