St Pat’s Bar & Grill
“It's just out of Times Square enough to be local, big enough to be casual, and interesting enough to be a great time.”
“Gotta give 5 stars, you won't feel like you have been ripped off when it comes to food — drinks are a bit high even for this trite/tourist local.”
“All my colleague's food looked great from the salmon to the steak.”

I went here for an after work drink in the middle of the week with a coworkers and I will report I would stop by again. It was a little crowded in the entry way, and since there was no initial hostess we just walked around for a minute on the lower level until she appeared.
She was very accommodating to move us to the second floor where it was quieter. I ordered the peach martini which was delicious and the nachos. The nachos were a small portion but excellent, and my coworker has the grilled chicken sandwich. She ate the whole thing which I took for a good sign.
Overall, St Pat's is a good midtown stop by for a quick drink.
Ask for Michelle. Come here for Michelle! She makes coming here so much fun! Seriously Michelle. Tell her Adrian the Asian boy sent you.
TL; DR: Wouldn't refuse to come back if someone else REALLY liked the spot, as I can see how this would the rockin'-est joint for some. But I'm not likely to recommend it to friends or the team at work. Nothing left me thinking this place earned more than to be a hit it and quit it.
Many folks have their favorite Irish/Scottish Pub/Restaurant, to whom they're faithful and swear is the best outside of the place's namesake country (this chap included). Still, those folks tend to roam, for coupon deals, ease of location to friends/office, change of pace, et al. While I don't regret roaming to St. Pat's, I left reassured that my favorite is no where near in danger of being usurped.
The hostess was super sweet. Music and noise in the bar area was horridly loud, but the dining area in the back allows for convo and pleasant enjoyment of the music (which was an awesome mix all over various music genres). They didn't give a hassle about using my voucher. The waitress and busser didn't rush us during any portion of, or after, our meal. Liquor drink pours were weak, but the 1166 specialty was, at least, quite refreshing and flavorful.
Solid pricing on beers, but they have Boddington's listed on the draft menu, even though they haven't carried it for years (so our waitress said).
The Messy Burger was really solid: the exact cook I ordered, and their take on chips is awesome! But, when the server cleared my friend's plate, I specifically told her I was picking at my burger/fries…..yet she cleared it during a pass by when I wasn't paying attention (literally, friend and I threw our heads back laughing at something HIGH-larious…..and then saw her walking away with my plate…..) ….and she didn't ask me if I wanted it packed to go (still had nearly half the burger and chips on my plate……). Not cool.
The grilled cheese, though, was borderline insulting. It was on the special list, but looked like what you'd get off of a bad kid's menu (note: they have one listed on the kid's menu…hmm…). Bread was hardly griddle-browned, not a drop of butter used (so the entire thing was dry as *bleep*), cheese (American…opposed to a more "adult" cheese) wasn't fully melted….and it was very small. The rashers looked decent, and were grilled well….but overall fail blog of a grilled cheese.
Other food that we saw/smelled come out looked/smelled amazing. So maybe it's just a matter of knowing which items are best to order here.
War Eagle!
If you don't know what that means, look it up. Spent few days of vacation NYC and really wanted to see the game at the alumni bar and this place turned up.
Great bartender, great atmosphere, plenty of seating, great service, not much else you can ask for.
Gotta say that the fries are pretty unique. There's a pocket of hot air trapped inside that makes that look puffed up and they were brilliant.
It's an easy after-work bar to go for a couple beers with your colleagues. Nothing outstanding, just a standard beer list and normal pub food. Sometimes their service can be really slow or reckless. For example, on a slow Friday afternoon there, my friend's drink came in a glass with lipstick stains.
Go in, expect an average experience, and you'll be alright.
Stopped in for lunch around 2 PM and was seated right away at our request in the rooftop garden area. Waiter came over pretty quickly to get our drink order and then stopped back to get our food order…and asked if we'd placed our drink order with him. Hmm… short memory, but he did recall it once we reminded him what we'd ordered. Oh well, we took advantage of some drink specials that were very good in price and quality and then awaited our food.
I got the chipotle chicken wrap and it had good flavor and the right amount of sauce as opposed to some places where they drown it. Chicken had some kick to it and the other flavors were fresh and tasty. My wife go the chicken pasta, which was also very good and flavorful.
Took a while to get our check, and when we did we got it from a waitress – not the waiter who took our order. She was also out there asking if everything was OK; our guy was around, but not as attentive as she was – maybe they were changing over, hard to say. The lunch crowd had departed, so we were there in the gap between lunch and the after-work crowd.
Overall the food was good and fairly priced for NYC, the drinks were a bargain, and the service was very spotty. Liked the outdoor option.
