  1. Last Saturday I found myself wandering the city. I headed over to Roosevelt Island in need of a phone charging and a bathroom. This Starbucks met both of those needs fabulously. It wasn't over crowded like most Starbucks are (aka I could find a free plug) and the bathroom was pretty clean.

Service was quick and my passion tea lemonade (warm weather drink of choice when I don't want a green tea frappuccino) was well made.

  2. I'm guessing on any other day this place is pretty calm. However on the 4th of July, with it raining this place is a madhouse. Huge lines for coffee, huge lines for the restroom. Can't even get a space under the doorway! I think they handled the rush pretty well though the crowds were still unbearable. Nice lounge and outside areas worth hanging out at if you ever find yourself on this interesting island. 3.5 stars

  3. Roosevelt Island is odd.  I do love visiting here.  This is right around the corner from the train station, but a bit of a walk from the Tram.  It's ultra convenient to hang out in prior to their NYCRUNS road races they hold here on the island.

  4. This is the Starbucks location where I work on Roosevelt Island.

    Pros:
-Great location, situated right next to the subway station, and within easy walking distance to a pizzeria, a Bar & Grill and a Sushi restaurant.
    -Clean and well maintained.
-Lots of seating, both indoor and outdoor

    Cons:
-A lot of the seasonal specials, for example, the Pumpkin Spice specials they have, run out very quickly OR they just don't have them available at all! Disappointing..
-Sometimes they'll have 1 person making the drinks and 1 cashier, or I've even seen 1 person doing both cashier and drink making.. So the wait can get pretty long.

  5. When I visited this Starbucks location, they had a deal going for their speciality holiday drinks: Buy 1, get the 2nd one free.  I was like awesome except that I was in the mood for hot chocolate.  What am I saying?  I am always in the mood for hot chocolate.  Besides the bathroom all the way in Fort Tryon park, this is a safe bet in case you are able to walk like 5 blocks' worth all the way there.  I see people parked with laptops studying on the large tables within, so maybe chatting loudly is not a great idea.  There are some stools in the middle where you can catch some sunlight and eat a pastry or two.  I ordered the pumpkin bread and was amazed.  🙂  It was sweet, pumpkin seed-kind of nutty, and hit the spot before a walk ahead of me.

  6. If you know me, then you know I love Roosevelt Island. Although the indoor area is small, there's a huge outdoor area with multiple tables. There is also a bathroom. That's all I need to say about that.

  7. I'm not all that familiar with the island but a detour and a short stroll later I found myself lost upon this little island.

Where can I find myself some caffeine so I can have the energy to find my way off this quaint little island?

I guess I'll have to settle for Starbucks. Wow what a pleasant surprise! It's not very crowded, the staff are excited to serve you with great precision. Same crappy Starbucks commercialized music integrated into the "Starbucks Experience".  However on a nice day the outdoor seating offers a great view into Manhattan across the river.

Caffeine fix successful, but strangely I find myself not jittering to get off the island but wow…it's nice here!

  8. Here on Roosevelt Island, this appears to be your only coffee option.  Luckily the line is not long, there is outdoor seating and, unlike any other location in Manhattan, there is no line for the bathroom! Even so, the bathroom was as messy as any other branch.  Just more available.
