Starbucks

“Excellent new Starbucks that just opened up in Inwood area right on Dyckman next to the subway.”

“Maybe because the people of Inwood are a bit tired of "local" places that aren't so friendly toward what we consider local people.”

“Clean, quick service and a bunch of dweebs hogging up tables with their laptops.”

  1. The slowest service ever. Avoid this place on a Sunday. Seriously. The staff plays around a lot and run out of products before 1PM. This is Starbucks..how do you run out of brown sugar and half and half????

  2. Typical Starbucks. Service was a little slow on a Saturday. The bathroom has a door code so you won't have random bathroom users taking up space in this small spot. Very close to the Cloisters, good spot to grab a refreshment on your way up or down.

  3. I like the location of this Starbucks, right on the corner near the park. However, I was there today and instead of making me a chai tea latte like I asked, they seemed to have made me a coffee latte. I didn't realize till I was too far away. I was going to give this place a 4 star, but forgive the disappointment.

  4. Excellent new Starbucks that just opened up in Inwood area right on Dyckman next to the subway.

This one had free wifi, clean bathroom and a  sit/stand bar on the middle and some seats on the side by windows. It's a better Starbucks the ones downtown. Staff is friendly and service is quick. That's all I care about

    Love this one.

  5. Admittedly, as soon as I walked into this new Upstate Manhattan Starbucks location, my first reaction was, "…this feels kind of weird.". Gentrification has different angles, I suppose. Heh. Love it or hate it, it's here. I'm pleased it is; it's familiar and consistent.

Still, perched gingerly on the corner of Dyckman and Broadway, the A Train's entrance right beside it (akin to their sibling store on 181st and Fort Washington), this Bucky's is bustling. I liked the seating, namely the large communal table. The ordering area and receiving area are far removed from each other. I'm not sure if I hit a bad early evening lull or what, but it took 5+ minutes for me to get a simple green iced tea with only two customers ahead of me. Eh.

While I'd be more inclined to support Darling Coffee or Indian Road Cafe, I can't deny this location's convenience.
