I mean, what did you expect from a Starbucks chain that's in NYC? It meets my requirements: take my order, write my name on the cup correctly (probs the hardest part to get correctly), make my drink correctly, and have some seating area where I can just lounge and get some work done on my laptop.
The cashier was extremely nice. I asked for a Grande Bold Coffee; she informed me that it was being brewed. I tried to pay for it but she told me that it was on the house. Interesting. This was 2nd time that I was offered free Starbucks coffee in Upper East Side.
Usually go to this Starbucks on the UES since it's most convenient to Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum. It's clean, the lines are reasonable, and there's plenty of seats to sit down.
Quick moving lines for coffee. Close to #6 subway stop. Easy access to grab a morning iced coffee and jump on the train to work.
The layout itself is kind of weird. It's just a long narrow space from the front entrance to the back by the bathroom with counter seating all along the windows. I guess it's good for people watching. Just a small table seating area to the left of the entrance. Of course some wifi hogs were in attendance.
Only one bathroom and there always seems like a line for it!
Otherwise, just another standard Starbucks location.
Standard Starbucks but very cool spot to come in and study. Very friendly staff at all hours. I came in for a hot tea the morning before the marathon and got it on the house! Super nice people!
Cool Starbucks in the upper east side. Has a cool looking black look to it compared to the usual standard green Starbucks Logo look!
I'm rarely in this area but had some minutes to kill and went for a cup of coffee very early in the morning.
Very friendly staff eager to help.
It's also big enough to have decent seating area.
The proximity of this location to the subway leads to several side effects: it's always swamped with people, ordering takes forever, staff are unfriendly (at best) and orders are rushed and thus subpar.
I've been back on Starbucks because of their new order ahead option in the app. At every other Starbucks I've tried (maybe 5 others) ordering through the app has been faster, easier and honestly better, since some shops dedicate a barista to app orders. At this spot? App said my drink was ready and I waited as the guy made 6 drinks and would not reply to my questions about my order, just looked through me like a drone and slammed it down on the counter after throwing it together. It was bitter and burned. The coffee too.
Pass on this spot for one of the others off Lex if you can spare the detour.
