It's tiny, but it's convenient and great for those trudging to work who may want some fresh fruit and perhaps a cider doughnut or two. Prices comparable to other farmer's markets.
Keep in mind that we were utilizing the ferry for an "attraction" and not for transportation service…
Something FREE in NYC! Who woulda thought?!?!? Totally worth the time. We were a little disappointed that there was only inside seating but the real deal is that it is for function and not a tourist attraction so I get it. I was bummed that more of the windows were not open because it was boiling hot in there and there were a ton of people. The ferry goes right by the statue of liberty so if you are forgoing the actual tour and just want a glimpse of the lady close up then this is the way to do it. They have a snack bar on board and they serve…get this…ALCOHOL!
I highly recommend hopping on the (free) ferry and taking a relaxing journey across the water. Definitely worth it!
I love this greenmarket – full of unusual fruit (currents, gooseberries) as well as the usual orchard fruit and veggies. There are apple cider donuts which are fresh and delicious, and there is a honey stand.
Four stars only because it is not open often enough and they should really expand this to include other things!
First off…ITS FREE!!! And when you get to Staten Island, the views are amazing! And while on the fairy you get a great FREE view of the Statue of Liberty. Its a must ride for any visitor.
You wouldn't think this, but there is some amazing crispy pizza for $2.50 at the pizza place downstairs. I would walk back just for that pizza.
Free! Great views!
The only way to bother with the Statue of Liberty – why pay all that money to go see something that you can't see because you're right at it?
We had lovely weather and went late afternoon, stopped off for a bite to eat on the SI side, and came back after nightfall – so got to see the view both ways. Beautiful.
Reliable service. Really busy going across at rush hour, but empty when we came back from SI.
Go try it, you've nothing to lose but an hour or two.
