I've been here a few times looking for various bottles of wine (which keep accumulating in my cabinet…I should probably start drinking them at some point), and in addition to the decent selection for a Brooklyn wine store and great prices, the women who are always behind the cash registers are really nice too!
I once picked up a bottle of champagne after a Friday evening run over the Manhattan Bridge and back, and decided to veer over to 5th Avenue as my finishing point in order to pick up the aforementioned bottle. The woman behind the counter seemed pretty amused at my running attire, and said something akin to "oh wow, that's a good job" when I told her I'd run over to the bridge, over it, and back. It made me smile.
P.S. I've only used cash here, but I believe they accept credit cards over $10 (I say that because you can make many under $10 single purchases here).
