Stop & Shop

“Fruits, veggies, meat, dairy, and bakery are all good, except for a younger guy behind the deli counter with an attitude problem.”

“So this store always had a great deli, but now they fry up batches of freshly floured chicken a couple of times a day.”

“The produce is a bit more pricey than the old Waldbaum's. I love the deli ticketing system (yes, I am aware this has been around forever).”

  1. I only come here because the Waldbaum's 2 blocks away from me closed ): *tear*

The supermarket isn't too bad. The produce is a bit more pricey than the old Waldbaum's. I love the deli ticketing system (yes, I am aware this has been around forever). The aisles are nicely kept and I love their self-check out machines!

  2. Location is convenient but products are limited. The vegetables, fruits and deli goods are sometimes decently priced, but normally i don't buy them here because they're not the most fresh groceries I've seen. I think groceries here are slightly more expensive than other stores in the neighborhood. When it's during off peak hours, it's rather quiet. But there are certain hours where the store is bustling with people and a little disorganized. Not a horrible place to buy groceries–it's just okay. But I don't buy all my groceries from here.

  3. It's clean and organized as should any grocery store.  They have decent selection of items one needs except on my last visit they were entirely out of confectioners sugar which is random.  The prices are decent especially of items are on sale. Major plus for having a parking lot!

  4. I would rather have a root canal at the DMV than to come to this store. I have been in 7-11 stores bigger than this store. This store has the most ridiculous array of stuff you don't want and nothing of what you need.

There is no way this store could be ADA compliant. You need to have a mini shopping cart and be a size 0 just to get around other customers in the aisles.
I stopped by here because I was being held hostage by the Northern Blvd traffic only to then be held hostage by a grocery store. Everyone else in the store must have had the same idea of getting away from the traffic. Stop and Shop needs to widen the aisles and have less crap that people do not buy. I took pictures of crap that was totally unnecessary for a store this small. If your store is the size of a convenience store, then just have the basics that everyone needs. No need to go all fancy schmancy.

I think I found 15 items that were kind of on my list. The guy in the deli was picking his nose so that was certainly a no go for getting deli meats. This store is cramped and has way too many employees doing busy work when they should be on the registers checking customers out.

The DMV at least has decent cell phone service and you get a number so you know approximately how long the wait will be.

  5. I went there to buy bottled water. You know, the 24 packs of poland spring which are 3 for around $12? Anyway, I go in, they don't have it. I find a manager and ask for a rain check, he directs me to customer service. That was where things got crazy.

I walk up to the customer service area. I see that there is an employee of the store doing business at the customer service desk, but rather than move aside for a PAYING CUSTOMER, this lovely woman proceeds to:
    1. Cash a check
    2. Get a money order
    3. Buy cigarettes
    4. Buy lotto and scratch off tickets.

I thought I was being punked. 15 minutes and 4 transactions later (I'm shocked she didn't also apply for a home loan), I finally got my rain check. Hopefully the employee was happy, because that's the way to do business, screw the customers! lol

    Stop and Shop, you suck!

  6. yea there is better places to go. try them fairway, king kullen, whole foods take your pick but not here

  7. Not the greatest stop and shop and certainly not the most well stocked.  However, decent layout and friendly staff.
