  1. I had and Belgium waffle with bacon. It was so but so delicious! So soft and tasty. This place is in a great location! Service is great. Didn't have to wait long for the food and the food tasted very fresh. I will definitely recommend this place and come back again when I'm in town.

  2. Years later after moving to another neighborhood, my fiancé and I were in the mood for brunch on a beautiful, sunny but chilly Saturday and thought, why don't we go back to Stop Inn Diner for old time's sake? So we did and it was as delicious as I remembered it!

I ordered my fave: french toast deluxe  (yes, good thing I had run 4.5 miles earlier that morning) – it came with French toast on brioche with 2 strips of bacon, slice of ham, 1 sausage link and eggs however you like, and my fiance ordered 2 eggs over medium with corned beef hash and hash browns — which are the best I've ever tasted at any diner.

The coffee refills were frequent and often and the bus boys/wait staff were always polite. LOVE this place for brunch!

  3. Good breakfast spot. Large portion, however you get what you pay for… its a bit pricey and you can probably share an order with 2 or more people unless you're hungry

  4. Decided to have an American Classic, sunny side up, potato hash and pork sausage. The pork sausage was more like pork links, tasty but they actually deep fry it. The eggs were good but yolks were a tad more done, the potatoes are good but i forgot to tell the server to make my potato hash well done. Had i asked for it well done, the potatoes would have been less soggy and had a nice crunch. The coffee is pretty good but the servers could be more engaging. I get it 6:30am is not exactly my favorite time to be up but we all have to make a living.

  5. This is the solid neighborhood diner in Woodside. I've had many a brunch and burger here over the years. I love their french toast. Service is alright. Don't forget to pay at the register near the entrance when you get your check.

  6. In my mind, this is the perfect diner. Has your typical diner fare, but executed very well, no piles of excess grease to mop up.

The omelettes are fantastic. Full of meat, perfectly cooked. I don't even like potatoes, but I love the hash browns. They are delectably crispy.

My friend and I walked here from the UES. He was skeptical as to why we were walking to a random diner in the middle of Queens, but once we started on our Chef's Omelettes (omelette with every type of meat and swiss cheese) he understood.

  7. This is a classic old school New York diner/lunch counter. The millwork inside dates it, but the service is quick, efficient and professional. It is a standard diner menu, with a few Irish additions. The omelette I got was perfectly acceptable; the hashbrowns were fine, and the coffee was steaming hot and refilled frequently. To add to the ambiance, there was old-timey saxophone smooth yazz being played as a soundtrack, which added to the Old New York ambiance. That's what gave it the extra star.

  8. This has been my go-to diner since I was little. Stop Inn has a long history and has served so many people – meaning there's a very good reason why.

Their breakfast is SOLID. Reliable, fast, delicious and consistent. Weekend mornings are the busiest so don't come too late or there might be a long wait. To be honest, I've never had anything else besides their breakfast menu because it's so consistently good that I don't want to explore anything else.

I always thought the home fries is what sets apart breakfasts from different diners and I think it's done pretty well here. It's shredded potatoes fried down to get crispy. Make sure you ask for extra crispy for that elevated crunch element! It does come out bland though so I always add sat and pepper, but it's nothing to complain about – if anything, it gives me more control.

Service is real quick and you can expect your food in about 10 minutes.

Make sure you pay at the register after eating!
