Lunch in Downtown presents a challenge to my budget as everything is either two dollar sign or three dollar sign. However, Subway sandwich foots the bill totaling under $10.00 with my favorite chocolate chip cookie (without nuts). My default sandwich size is 6 inch and the quality of food is usually fresh. This Subway franchise is larger with ample seating and it is clean. Line is orderly and efficient serving customers.
This place is God awful. But, what do you expect from a Subway sandwich place? The employees are probably making minimum wage, and do not want to be there. You can see it on their face. Oh yeah, and since they don't want to be there, I can only assume they don't want other people to be there either.
I only come to this location because it is so close to my office, and I am clearly too lazy to walk to next subway location 2 blocks over that have sandwich-makers just as miserable as the ones working here. They are super stingy when it comes to putting toppings into your sandwich. Don't you dare ask for more spinach or an extra tomato. Because, you'll be greeted with an "are you f*cking kidding me? I put 2 tomatoes already…"
The only upside to this place is when they're offering their $5 footlong specials on regular footlongs, which is a really great value for a sandwich in TriBeCa.
