  1. I'm in the mood for some sweets & went to this place since its close to where I live.

The place is big with mini thai groceries. They sell desserts, homemade microwaveable meals & snacks in a container. They have few seating.

    We got the:
manggo with sticky rice $10- its not the usual plain sticky rice with manggo from any other thai restaurant. It has manggo ice cream, color green sticky rice topped with pistachio nuts & real manggo. It taste heavenly! I like the combination of all flavors most especially the sticky rice. My favorite for today. A must try!

Romeo toast $10- toast bread topped with banana, chocolate ice cream, kitkat chocolates, whipped cream, chocolate coated pretzels with strawberry & kiwi on the side. For those who loves chocolates then this is for you! I love chocolates. I enjoyed everything in it. Its mix of everything. Crispy, soft & tender! It was big. Good to share. Yummy!

Great place & surely delicious desserts!

  2. After having lunch next door at 8 Paet Rio and disappointed to not have dessert, we popped into this place to check out what was on offer.

This place is interesting, it has a little bit of everything. My cousin thought the place was kind of odd in that there were Thai snacks and groceries sold, homemade desserts on hand, a drink bar offering up smoothies, teas, etc. I even spotted Thai medical remedies for sale here including menthol vapor inhalers and betadine solution. I commented out loud to my cousin about this and he asked me, "Are they FDA-approved?" I don't know the answer to his question.

This place sells a lot of coconut desserts, so if coconuts are something you fancy (I love coconut), this is heaven.

I ended up picking out two different kind of coconut desserts, one is a green coconut layer jello ($4) and the other a white coconut pudding ($4). And also a box of tamarind candy.

We went home, brewed up some hot tea, and munched happily on the coconut treats. They were excellent, not too sweet, and exactly like the ones I have had in Thailand.

Definitely check this place out. Bright decor with a friendly vibe and yummy Thai desserts to satisfy the sweet tooth in all of us. Two thumbs up!

  3. This place was awesome. Cafe/grocery store with all Thai products packaged and fresh foods/fruits. Really enjoyed the Romeo toast but definitely need to share it. I couldn't finish it by myself. The splash drinks are carbonated with fruit syrup and fruit pieces. The workers were friendly and helpful when my friends had questions about some products they couldn't read since it was all in Thai. The honey toast is definitely better than the Korean versions I've had in flushing. Will definitely come back to try other things. So much to choose from! Snacks galore.

  4. What a sweet little Thai market and cafe!

I came in on a Sunday and they had a little mini-festival set up at the front of the cafe with homemade Thai food and sweets. (I'm not sure whether this is a weekly weekend event or if it was just that Sunday). I'm sure this event took up most of the table space and seating, so my friend and I had to resort to the small seating area at the cafe bar which was a little less comfortable.

We ordered the skillet egg and the Honey Town. The prices here are great for the value as everything was delicious and very Thai-style. Presentation of everything is great and served on nice wooden boards. The toast itself is not very soft, but more of a crunchy type. It is stacked and covered with sweetened condensed milk, ice cream, red bean, and a wafer roll accompanied with a heaping portion of fresh fruit. The portion size is easily shareable between two people. I was pleased with the ice cream and red bean quality since that is what matters the most to me. Everything was very delicious!

The market itself has all kinds of traditional and basic Thai snacks, dried goods, and pantry goods. There is also a refrigerated section with freshly prepared desserts and Thai vegetables. Prices for the market items are reasonable as mostly everything is a Thai imported good. It definitely feels like you've been transported back to Thailand once you step into this small cafe and grocery!

  5. Sugar Club is a very interesting venue.  It's a Thai grocery store, cafe, and small community center all in one.  There's a separate line for ordering their famous dessert toasts (pay at regular grocery line).  I love how they bring the toast to your table.  It's on a thick wooden block and I would be terrified of dropping the entire thing walking from one end of the grocery store to the other end where the tables and windows are located.

I tried their Honey Town Toast and it was amazing!  It tastes even better than it looks (and it is very Instagram-worthy).  It will satisfy any sweet tooth!  The fruits are cut up beautifully to make flowers or decorations.  The green tea ice cream scoop is generous and there's red beans and chocolate syrup over the sliced toast.

They also have small take-out desserts and food items in their grocery store and a restroom in the back.

  6. Came here for the desserts! (And the insta)

My sister and I split the Honey Gold which is a thick slice of toast topped with peaches, bananas and caramel drizzle + a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream on the side.

It was delicious and presentation was on point. It is far from the city, but I'd come back to try some of their other items.

*This is a Thai grocery store with a dessert shop inside.

  7. Because my sister had to do it for the insta, we trekked out to Elmhurst for the dessert. This is mostly a Thai grocery store with a selection of desserts to be made on site. It's a very minimal and basic store with phenomenal desserts. They also have savory stuff and drinks, but we didn't try any. Most desserts center around a delicious piece of giant fluffy toast with various toppings. One order is an overly indulgent dessert for one (or a good way to ruin your dinner) so I definitely recommend sharing.
Presentation is gorgeous and the wait time is reasonable. However, if there are several orders ahead of yours, it might take a while. They really take their time making sure each dessert comes out picture perfect.
The seating area is right next to the cash register, but the natural lighting makes up for it.

  8. THEY SELL CHIPS.

Hot pot flavored chips! "Seashell" flavored, satay flavored, sweet basil (a bit spicy) flavored, extra bbq flavored chips!

    And strawberry refresher drink.

It's a place where you can grab a refreshing drink, some dessert and sit down AND buy your groceries.
