  1. Eggs benedict so good! I usually don't like the ham when other restaurants serve it with the eggs, however this ham was on par.  The atmosphere here is so chill and relaxing that I'm sure this would not be my last time in visiting – totally want to try more of the items on the menu, like the po-boy!  Waitress was patient and informative when we had questions about some of the food!  Knows her stuff.  Yummy!

  2. Husband and  I stumbled onto this spot last night when we were looking for somewhere unusual to drink and have a little nibble at 11 o'clock. The bartender was awesome, gave us lots of recommendations of different beers and we each would up having two. I was really stoked that they had a blood orange pale ale! We had the brussels sprouts with bacon and maple syrup, the bacon was so thick and juicy, it was amazing! The kale salad with brussels sprouts and cheese and toasted almonds was out of this world. What a great little spot to come and hang out, really unique art very eclectic we will definitely be back!

  3. stopped at this spot to grab some food before a show at knitting factory. this place is steps away from the L, and then just a couple blocks from knitting factory. super convenient! really liked the low key atmosphere here, along with the decent amount of space. it was nice not being crammed into people!

the food menus isn't huge, actually very simple. everything on it sounds so tasty and mostly unhealthy (yes please). my group ordered the fried chicken po' boy, burger with added bacon and poutine fries. the amount of fried chicken on the sandwiches was great! fries that came with the sandwiches were zesty cajun fries. really my only complaint about the food was on the poutine. it was served with fried cheese curds, which prevented the cheese from getting gooey and melty on the fries. but i mean i still really love fried cheese curds. anddd the gravy on the poutine was great.

service was super friendly, solid beer choices. definitely would come back here.

  4. We were recently visiting NYC just for the heck of it. One of my co-workers grew up there and recommended Williamsburg to us, however, his directions were very specific, so we got off the train and headed North and landed here first. We're glad we did! What a great little bar! Fun artsy decor. Really great beers, including some so cal beer options like grapefruit sculpin! Yum! Our fave! As well as great coffee options! One of the bartenders prided himself on the coffee, so I recommend ordering one! 🙂 we were here on a Monday afternoon, so it was quiet, but actually fairly busy considering the day and time… Everyone seemed to be working on their laptop, so that must be their weekday schtick! Not a bad schtick! Id like to work there instead of home! The bartender and owner were also awesome at keeping us company and giving us travel and destination ideas within the city! We'll be back for sure if we're ever in the area!

  5. I met up with a couple friends at Sugarburg a few weeks back, to catch up over rounds of beer. I was staying in Williamsburg and this bar ended up being convenient for everyone, as it was basically on top of an L/G station.

We came in at around 5:30 on a Wednesday and stayed until 8 or so, and the place was fun the whole time we were there, never dead and never crowded. We sat right by a window and got table service. I loved the atmosphere–Brooklyn hip but not too precious. Service was great. One of my friends ate dinner here, too. I had dinner plans, or I might have been tempted.

Instead, I drank some beer–I tried the Smuttynose Finest Kind IPA and the Peekskill Amazeballs Pale Ale. Both were great beers I don't see in California.

I had a lovely time at Sugarburg and would be happy to go back whenever I'm in this part of New York. The bar was cute and convenient with good beers on tap, the kind of place I always look for, in any neighborhood.

  6. Stayed in Brooklyn for one night due to "Snow-magedden" cancelling our return flight home. With a mission to make the best of our additional vacation day, my friend and I found Sugarburg on Yelp, and it turned out to be 5 minutes from the hotel we were staying at. Really an amazing find! Super friendly and attentive service, AMAZING maple brussel sprouts, mac and cheese and sandwich, really cool decor – overall it was a place I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Brooklyn. If I lived there, I would hang out there all the time!

  7. Honestly, I cannot find anything wrong with this place.

I stopped in for a bite to eat in order to prevent a further decent into the depths of "hangry". At that point, I would have eaten an old tired. Fortunately for me the food was waaaaay better than an old tire.

The shrimp po boy was really delicious and huge (more than two shrimp on a sandwich), by NYC standards. A po boy, some fries, and a small salad is quite the deal. Plus the restaurant had a nice little craft beer menu/list. The service is very prompt and competent. Our waitresses seemed very cool and laid back, while being professional. The clientele seemed like regular joes in their thirties (We ate on an Sunday afternoon around 5pm; Im sure that it gets more hipster as the night passes).

All in all this was a fun place with pretty good food. An A in my book.

  8. ***Extremely long wait for food, Small seating, Delicious food***

I'm bummed it took so long for our food to arrive, but the food was very delicious. We were seated in a corner and it was a pretty tight spot. Our waitress did come by to let us know our food was almost coming out, which I appreciated.
