Cool spot, super clean and cheap lunch specials. they aren't many sushi options in the Bronx. Some are good, some suck. this my friends, is one of the good ones.
I will be back.
thumbs up!
Oishi Sushi lived up to the hype a co-worker of mine from the Bronx had told me about. The place looks new inside and out, and I was told by my server its less than a year old.
The $20 AYCE special was what we went for, it came with appetizers and first course, so we already had edamame, miso, fried and steamed dumpling brought out to the table before we even began ordering sushi.
The sushi AYCE menu is outstanding, there are many different rolls to try, some are even deep fried.
We tried the deep fried spicy tuna roll that had a tangy sauce to go with it. That roll was more like a specialty roll you would pay close to $10 for anywhere else.
Tuna/salmon/avacado roll, Shrimp Tempura roll, And Philly rolls were all delicious and fresh as well.
Kind went full monty here and tried the fried bananas which were mind blowing! Fried really well and very rip sweet banana in the middle, I was surprised how much better this dessert was than anywhere else I've ever tried it.
I would recommend this place to anyone, I plan on returning asap with some of my hardcore sushi samurais.
This place has become my go to for Sushi, take out, delivery or even the occasional dine in. Crab Rangoons are still the highlight, but their sushi has also been consistently fresh and delicious.
My only complaint is the hibachi, not that great and they don't provide any dipping sauce for it(my favorite part) or at least not when you have it delivered.
Also, the Tuna Lobster was like a sushi roll where the tuna took the place of rice and the filling was basically lobster tossed in mayo….too much mayo though. Could really be a delicious app if they reduced the mayo and made that part a little more tasty.
Over priced.
I would order in from here once a week until i realized i was wasting my money. I wouldn't even finish my meals. I always order the spicy salmon, and it never came with the spicy mayo sauce. So i started telling them on the phone to make sure the sauce is put on, but it still came with no sauce!!!!! find another place to go to.
