I have been wanting to write a review of this place for a long time but finally getting the opportunity to do so.
This is basically a Turkish grocery store and butcher located on Ocean Ave in Brooklyn. It also has a dessert counter, mini olive bar and offers few hot items for a quick bite (gyro, rolls stuffed with meat/cheese/spinach). The place is clean and well stocked of items. I have been making the commute from Long Island to this place (at least) for the last 8 years. The reason? the butcher.
The quality of the meat sold here is like none other. This is a zabiha halal butcher. Although one may be able to find similar or even better quality beef and chicken elsewhere, this place really shines for their lamb. A call placed 1-2 days in advance can secure you a baby lamb which they will happily cut up to your specifications. No other butcher that I have tried carries such good lamb (mostly Long Island; BUT I have not tried places in Astoria, Queens which also has many butchers that specialize in lamb). It's so good that many of the restaurants (especially the Turkish) in the area get their meat supplied from here.
