  1. It was funny watching them open a coconut. I think it's one of those items you wish the customers don't ask for. HAHA

I ordered a green smoothie, which I think is probably the most popular, and a mixture of greens and fruits juice. Kind of pricey. I think they ignored my specific request to use less agave because the staff made two and just handed them out..The smoothie was very good and I loved the consistency but I was disappointed with my agave request. The juice came out surprisingly good but I couldn't help but to notice their lack of portions. They started off with a lot of fruits so the cup was practically full before the kale juice came out..which again, was not what I ordered..If I wanted a fruit juice I would have gotten one cheaper at jamba juice.

  2. Summers Juice is a small juice joint in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

I got the "Date" smoothie. They have four smoothies, five-ish juices, make-your-own juice with four ingredients, and a couple sandwiches. You can also get a baby coconut for $5.

The juice joint is small, with a few window bar seats and an indoor picnic table, where people are usually waiting for their drinks. Most people just come to pick up their drinks, instead of sitting and sipping. It's a busy place, and the drinks aren't quick to make, FYI.

    What I got/what I thought:
    – "Date" smoothie for $9. This is a similar smoothie I've seen in many vegan juice places. It had bananas, dates, cacao nibs, and almond milk. It's a Vegan chocolate milk! It was sweet, and I liked the crunch of the cacao nibs. Some of the date pieces were not blended smoothly, so my straw caught some date chunks. Other than that, I really enjoyed my smoothie.

I'd recommend to just pick up a smoothie instead of staying: There is little seating, it's busy, and the blenders are pretty loud. The smoothies are good, but I'd like to see more options in the smoothie section. I like that you can make your own juice– A lot of people come for this.

  3. Everything was pretty solid; juice was great and not watery (why some places have the audacity to serve watery $7 juice i dont know) and the sammies hit the spot.  bonus points for playing Illmatic also.

  4. Summers is great.

    1. Fresh, delicious juices ($5 for small, $7 for large) where you can select up to 4 ingredients. I love the Kale, Grapefruit, Pineapple, and Orange combination. Sometimes I'll ask them to surprise me, and they'll always give me a new favorite combo 🙂
    2. Super friendly staff that don't mind when I use their Wi-Fi for a few hours.
    3. Their signature EGG SANDWICH. The runny yolk. The Sriracha. What's not to like?
    4. How it's seemingly lesser known and not overrun with people!

I wish they had a public restroom and that the seating was a little more comfortable, though. The communal table in the middle is a little awkward because the seat shifts a lot whenever someone moves, but it's not a big deal.

  5. My friend and I got to the area earlier than expected and stopped at Summers Juice & Coffee for something fresh. They also have a selection of food items available. The smoothies here are around $9, which is honestly a little more than I would like to spend on a drink, since I make smoothies at home very often.

However, I was excited to try the juice, which is something I don't have the equipment and patience to make hah. A small juice is $5 and you get to choose 4 different ingredients. My friend asked for a recommendation and got a combination of spinach, grapefruit, celery and lemon. And I had a combination of kale, cucumber, green apple and orange juice.

My drink was a perfect blend of sweetness and definitely quenched my thirst. My friend was not very pleased with her drink as it was way too sour.

My friend and I stayed inside to enjoy our drinks but had to leave when we both noticed a haze coming from the kitchen. My eyes were watering and it was getting a bit unbearable. The next time I come i'll probably have another juice and sit outside instead.

  6. If you ever find yourself in this area looking for either Juice or Coffee, this is an easy yes.

However, if you aren't in the area, don't make the trek.

  7. Came in for a juice for my son, and we were a bit disappointed at the selection options.  While I recognize it may be a rough time of a year for fresh fruit, the only two sweet varieties were really orange and pineapple. Tons of green options, which is great for grownups, but I would have liked to find some options that would be sufficiently palatable for the little ones.

So, we opted for a smoothie. At $9, I have to say that I was unimpressed to be charged an additional 50 cents for the addition of some pineapple. Take away the chia seeds if you want, but seriously, upcharging when you only offer 3 varieties of smoothie is kinda lame.

My opinion is clearly in the minority, however, because everyone on the planet was there this morning, many of whom were clearly regulars and had a great chat with the staff while the line grew longer, and longer, and slower, and slower.  Summers Juice & Coffee just wasn't my cup of tea.

  8. I really like this place.  They are a bit chaotic and inefficient  at peak times but the stuff is good.  The pressed bottled juices are good – I think the custom juices are even better and they actually made me wait just as long when I order the bottled one as the custom one –  stood there 8 minutes in person waiting for them to hand me a pre-made bottle of juice when I came to pickup my order I had placed and paid for online.  So if you are trying to save time please note there is not much advantage to ordering online since they will still keep you waiting a long time and won't hand you the bag even if it is ready until you've waited in line — but if you are not in a hurry its a nice place to be.
