Sundance Cafe
“Only negative is take out only, currently no dine in available.”
“Aside from the fact that there are no seats for eating, the cafe is very nice and -like they preach to be- uplifting, the layout is minimalistic and appealing to the eye.”

This is the kind of place you want to like, but can't. I work across the street and was excited to have somewhere new to go for coffee and a fresh looking lunch menu. The menu is great–with wraps, burritos, smoothies, salads–but the execution leaves much to be desired. I'm not sure the team here actually knows how to make good food. For example the tofu is not pressed or prepped so by the time you eat your sandwich the tofu juices have completely soaked through the wrap. Another example, the burrito options are all rather strange and don't include what I would consider to be essential components like cilantro or cumin for flavoring; instead they use green onion in addition to the onion in the pico de gallo.
I've grown ambivalent about this place. I'm glad it's there and I hope with time their recipes improve. If that ever happens I will happily update my review.
My husband and I decided to have breakfast here before I had to report to jury duty. We were disappointed to find out they were only offering their breakfast menu, which was limited.
I ordered an egg white omelet with spinach and mushrooms. My husband ordered a bagel with veggie cream cheese and a western omelet. I noticed the worker (owner?) had buttered my toast. I asked if I could have a non-buttered toast, instead. He had it prepared rather quickly. When I went to eat my toast (luckily we had dined there), i noticed it was still buttered! It appeared as if he had flipped the slices of bread over! My husband's western had a piece of hair in it and his bagel was interesting – it was regular creams with spinach and peppers chopped up on it.
The food in general wasn't great (I think I can make better omelets at home). Maybe their lunch menu is better…
