  1. the pork buns here are to die for. i think it's the best pork bao i've had and they're only 3 for 5 or 6 dollars! that alone will make me come back.

the food in general is extremely cheap here – 4 dollars can get you a bowl of noodles. i prefer the sesame noodles, but my friends prefer the noodle soup. you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

the place is a little dirty, but the food makes up for it

  2. This is a hole-in-the-wall type noodle place. It's small restaurant, but I never had to wait for a table the couple of times I have been here. You have to order and pay at the counter. Their kitchen is open and you can even take a look at their kitchen on the way to their restroom, which is located behind the back of their kitchen.

Their noodles is good — hand-pulled and good al dente firmness. Their soup is fair and not too oily like some places. The beef is a bit overcooked for my taste. In comparison, the beef is not as good as Tasty Hand-pulled Noodles on Doyers, but it's a good place to get noodles if you are in the area and have the cravings.

They also serve pork belly buns which I haven't had the chance to try.

  3. I have now found my go-to place for beef noodle soup and pork belly buns. Two noodle dishes ($4-6) and an order of three buns ($5.75) is enough to fill you up for dinner. Everything comes out quickly and the owner speaks both Chinese and English so have no fear, tourists/non-Mandarin speakers!

Everything is freshly made and so authentic. I greedily slurped my soup, promptly burning my tongue, but it was so worth it. They have a ton of other noodle-based dishes on the menu as well as 10 dumplings for $3!! Such a great deal.

Definitely has the "hole in the wall" feel but the delicious, simple dishes speak for themselves. Cash only, pay after you eat – at the counter.

  4. Good solid spot that will fill you up on the cheap.

Been here a couple times and have always left satisfied. Noodles are hand-pulled in house and all their noodle dishes are very good. My usual go to is the beef noodle soup. Decent amount of beef and a simple, clean broth that works well. Food comes out ultra fast. Their gua bao (although not my favorite in town) are decent too – last time I was there they were 3 for $5.95; super reasonable. Thick cut of fatty pork belly that tasted great in the bao.

Not a lot of seating inside, but turnover is fast because the food comes out quick. I usually order at the counter, but I've seen the staff sometimes come out and take orders too. Also, the place is cash only, and you pay after the meal (not before).

  5. What a difference two letters make. If you removed the "s" and the "e" from the second word of this restaurant name, you'd have "Super Tat." And you'd come here to let a 300-lb hairy biker guy with missing teeth scrawl "YOLO" awkwardly onto your ankle in dodgy ink. In fact, I have never been more grateful for an "s" and an "e" in my whole life.

You don't come here for the service, which is average at best, and probably what you expect from a cheap takeaway place on the edges of Chinatown Manhattan. You do come here for the prices, which are absolutely bargain basement, and unlike much of Manhattan, have managed to stand the test of time and remain shockingly low. But the pricing is far from the star attraction here.

The Beef Handpull Noodle was, in a word, magnificent. Perhaps the best broth I've tasted (right up there with nearby Lam Zhou), with hearty, homemade-tasting noodles, and a generous portion at that. There was plenty of beef in here too. You'd never ask "where's the beef" with this dish. More importantly, the beef was tender, juicy, and perfect, and the crispy veggies in here were fresh af (that means fresh as f**k for the uninitiated).

We're talking roughly six dollars for a meal that will fill you up completely. I know it's good when I go in full, and not really wanting a full portion or anything close to it, and I come out guzzling and gulping down every morsel that they gave me, as if I hadn't eaten in a week. Absolutely fantastic meal, wonderful food, iffy service, incredible prices, but if this place is not a five star eatery, then my mother has never serviced decrepit gloryholes in Baltimore.

Speaking of six dollars, I heard that Superman got drunk again and is on the corner over there charging six dollars for a "Super Taste." If you're into that sort of thing. Does anyone have a napkin.

  6. This is definitely a hole in the wall kind of place but it's always these kind of places that make yummy food.
We ordered the beef noodle soup, which is the most popular dish, and pork buns.
The pork buns were interesting as they had crushed peanuts on them. I've never had pork buns with peanuts so it was different but it still tasted good nonetheless.
The noodle soup was amazing. It had a lot of cilantro on top which I loved and the hand pulled noodles and the soup broth was also really good. They give you a lot in one serving too. I was full after less than half of my serving.
They serve all dishes in plastic plates and the restaurant was pretty small but they serve you really quick so we got a seat really quickly.

  7. Don't get scared by its creepy environment!
This place is worth everything to come!

Location: I think this place is at the other side of Chinatown – the less busy side. I did not know if they have a clear english name at the front door. I visited there because I knew chinese. Originally, I was just in a sense of reminiscing hand-pulled noodles and this place came up out of nowhere. So right, I definitely gonna be here.

Food: I felt like most people here are regulars. To me, I already had a smoothie in the morning, so I reined my choice only to appetizers – porn bun would be a great choice.
And I am also glad that i did.

The pork bun is made from scratch – the bun is traditional bun which is soft and shroud with some sweet inside.
The pork is fresh, tendered and flavored.
The best part would be the added peanut butter.

The pork bun is very much savory and sweet.

    Service: no service at all

    Price: 3 bun for 5.75?!
    and 3 delicious one?!
yes, i am gonna be here whenever i can

    4 star!!!
    chinatown is amazing

  8. I've proudly worn the Yelp Duchess crown on this place a few times, but just as quickly as I got it, it was snatched away by other happy Yelpers checking in. But, of course, Super Taste is SUPER!

When we first came here, the main Lady of the Front of House sat us down with strangers, aggressively.  She then took our order and yelled it to the back kitchen while still standing right next to us. It caught us off guard at first, but now we look forward to it. We (boyfriend and I) love her! When other people take our orders, we're sometimes disappointed we didn't get the same yell-to-the-back service.

Both hand-pulled and knife-cut noodles have been delicious. The rice dishes are just as good. The dumplings that they make in house are simple and near perfection. The pork house bao is to die for! What are our go-to items? We come here so often that it changes all the time. If I must list a few favorites, I'd say…

I love the Mount Qi noodle soup and I prefer it with the hand-pulled noodles. I love the Soy Bean Paste noodles and I prefer it knife-cut. The dumplings and pork belly bao are a must-have, every time! Regardless of how generous the portions are, regardless of how full you get off a single entrée, YOU GET DUMPLINGS AND PORK HOUSE BAO!

The place is a total dive. There are seats, but they fill up fast. Often times you're required to sit with strangers at a table, like we do back in Asia. You have to go through the kitchen to use the restroom. Odd to some people, but I think it's pretty cool to see where the magic happens. All that magic at such low prices!

The only drawbacks are that they are cash only, they serve you piping hot food in thin, disposable, plastic bowls (there's only one giant noodle soup dish that isn't served in plastic), and they don't have adequate Asian soup spoons, which are a must for noodle soups. I started bringing my own Asian soup spoon. Even with the drawbacks, it still does not bring down their rating for me. As you can see, I just work around it.
