  1. This is my third time coming here and I'm utterly disappointed with the service I received. They only have three stars from me because it really is a great deal for all you can eat sushi. For about 25$ including tax I stuffed my face with endless sushi and hot foods ranging from teriyaki chicken to fried calamari & rock shrimp.

It's BYOB. I believe they charge you on Saturdays though- probably like $10. They give you two little menus when you sit down and you can check off all the items you desire. They make everything to order. The place needs somewhat of a face-lift though.

All in all, if you love sushi and a good deal I would give them a try. But if you're into all the fancy stuff and super pretty presentation then this isn't the place for you.

  2. Love buffet-style without having to actually move from my chair, this is perfect for lazy people like me 😛 All you do is sit back and with your group, check off on a piece of paper what you want from the hibachi and sushi list, and unlimited food comes to your table. I was a bit disappointed they kept forgetting certain things we kept checking off on the lists, like the sushi pizza we checked off twice…but I left full regardless, so that goal was accomplished at least. I have to say compared to Sushi Republic which is in NHP and same general idea, I like this place (Sushi Palace) better because they don't threaten that they'll charge you a la carte for any leftovers if you over-order. This place kinda reminds me of a dungeon though, could use some decorating compared to the other place. But the food was all great – I recommend the COLD NOODLES! (of all things…random). And the rock shrimp were really good too, with whatever sauce was on it. All the rolls were good, but I wasn't able to find one I really loved (I usually like a combo of shrimp tempura / tuna but didn't really find any of the special rolls that had that), so it made me be adventurous and go out of my comfort zone at least. Loved that they didn't charge extra for dessert like other places do too. This place is BYOB if you want which is nice (I haven't been to a place that allows that in so long)- but they do charge a ~10$ corking fee. I recommend this place if you're a big sushi fan- just remember your stretchy pants!

  3. I put off writing this "updated review" for a few days because I wanted to make sure and mull over that it wasn't this place that gave me a bad case of FOOD POISONING (stomach virus/stomach flu, whatever it was) after I came here for dinner. Alas, nothing could prove me wrong so here it is.

I was feeling fine the entire day before I came here for dinner. I came in with an appetite and ordered my usual avocado tofu handrolls, avocado cucumber maki rolls, and seaweed salad. Only things I ordered that were new to me was a sweet potato maki roll, vegetable gyoza and tofu teriyaki.

Everything tasted fine – I ate until I was full. But that night, I felt extremely nauseous and came down with chills. I woke up every hour of the night thinking I had to throw up, but didn't. Finally, around 5am, I threw up a little something and proceeded to have a nose bleed (first one in literally over 10 years). The following day,I was so nauseous and dizzy the entire day that I literally stayed in bed the entire time (except to forcefully drink water) because I felt too tired/dizzy/nauseous to do anything else. I barely ate anything the entire day because I had no appetite. Same thing happened the day after – still nauseous and I barely ate.

I don't know if it was what I ordered or if there was a serious case of cross-contamination (my boyfriend felt really nauseous too), but, as much as it pains me to say, I am never coming back here after such a bad experience.

  4. I have been coming to this sushi buffet restaurant since 2010 and I've never had a bad meal or experience here. The prices for all you can eat are fair, I've never spent more than $40 here per person and still was satisfied with high quality sushi, sashimi, appetizers, desserts, drinks, soups you name it.

My personal favorites – Try the Eel Avocado, Philadelphia Roll, Spicy Tuna crunch, Spicy Salmon Crunch, Dragon Roll, 2012 roll, shu mai, salmon sashimi, seaweed salad, chocolate/red bean/green tea ice cream.

Sushi Palace is definitely deserving of its title as the "palace". With high quality Japanese cuisine and fast service they definitely take the lead here. My only concerns when I come here is that I eat too much and get food coma/itis haha.

  5. Absolutely delicious! I came with my best friend after a spa visit and we left extremely full and happy. I can only say I hated one sushi roll out of the 5 we ordered.

It's all you can eat and you check off everything you would like them to bring. The dragon roll was spectacular! If I'm in the Great Neck area I'll definitely be coming back here again.

  6. The first time I didn't love it but the place has grown on me. I think he sushi and gyoza are actually pretty good, but the rest of the all you can eat options are a 2/5 stars. The price is very good for what you get. Wine is what you could expect for $5 at a all you can eat place. The service is not very friendly but does not rush you. I will go back with my friends again and again because the price is good and have had good memories of having fun their with friends.

  7. Had free delivery to my apartment today from sushi palace. Wow!

If you live or work nearby I would strongly recommend trying the free delivery. The quality is exactly the same, at the same amazing price.

Me and my girlfriend have tried every sushi place nearby and sushi palace is our favorite.

Best balance of price and quality. They do a lot of volume so their sushi chefs get tons of experience. Also the fish is always fresh due to the high turn-over.

The free delivery lets you enjoy everything that's right about sushi palace in the comfort of your home. Give it a try!

  8. This is my usual spot with my friends if we want all you can eat sushi. The good thing about this place is that they have sashimi available (most places just do sushi). Lets get to the kitchen food first. There are several kitchen food I always get when I go to sushi buffets and it is always the salmon teriyaki and the beef ribs. At sushi palace, it is pretty good. But sometimes they are pretty inconsistent with the beef ribs. One plate would be really good and cooked well and another would be burnt with a lot of fat and big bones. As for the sushi, they have a good variety available. I usually get salmon and red clam sashimi. I have never had a problem with freshness here but there are times where the cut of the sashimi is not pleasant. I have to also say that service isn't the best here… My friend ordered an fried oreo (around 6pm) and we were waiting on it but it hadn't arrived. We asked again around 6:20~6:25 and they said that they were out and that they could not honor it cause it is almost 6:30.. Well we sort of ordered around 6pm. We then asked another server and after 5 minutes of conversing she said that she was going to make it for us this time but next time we should check.. hmm… Overall, this is your average ayce sushi place. It is better than most places with quality and selection but just loses out on service.
