$21.99-$23.99 range for AYCE sushi buffet!
It's best to come here when they open or super late evening so you can avoid the crowds. For ordering your meal, you just mark down the choices that you want on the piece of paper that they give you. I really like the spicy tuna rolls and some of their specialty rolls (I don't remember the names tho). But, there were some rolls that had too much rice. 🙁 Try to leave some room for dessert too! They have green tea ice cream. You also have to try the fried oreos and the fried bananas – so amazing!
BTW, you should come here with a few guy friends so they can help finish eating the leftovers. 😉
This is the first time I visited this Sushi Village location. It sucks! The one in Hicksville is 100x better. It's $21.99 for all you can eat on weekdays and $23.99 on weekends.
Menu: Lots of options including hot dishes, rolls, sashimi, and dessert. However, they offer fewer options than the Sushi Village than Hicksville's. I love the salmon skin salad but they don't offer it in this location. They also have fewer kitchen items and fish options.
Food: The sashimi slices are super tinny. Maybe 3 slices of their sashimi equal to one regular slice. The worst part is, they cut orders. No matter how many you order, they kinda give you the same amount of slices.
Service: It was ok. They don't give you new menu order sheets until you ask for them. All the servers were all walking everywhere and not really paying attention.
Atmosphere: The wooden house and decorations made me feel like I went into an authentic Japanese restaurant. I like that it's always packed and the food turn over rate is fast, but I was lucky that I didn't have to wait.
Overall, I am not a fan. The price is decent for a all you can eat sushi with sashimi though.
Man this place was worse than I remembered…….its no wonder I haven't been back since the first time I visited. Came here after some price comparisons and saw that this was one of the more affordable ayce sushi places around queens, and so being the thrifty food connoisseur that I'm ( cheap lol ) i decided one fine day why not stop by this place again and give it another go……boy do I regret that decision.
Service was prompt, parking was a breeze, then again I came here on a weekday afternoon. The main issue here was the quality of the food. The sashimi was cut up into awkward little squares with each piece being a different size, quality was not up to par as each piece had a fairly chewy consistency….not a good sign for sashimi. The sushi here was by far the worst offender, the fish used was incredible stale as well and to mask the flavor of the poor quality of fish they added everything imaginable to cover up the taste from jalapenos to pineapple etc etc. Every single piece that I had here was absolutely crammed full of rice……and to add insult to injury they didn't use the right kind of rice as it was way too sticky and didn't have the right consistency that I'm used to with sushi.
I get it its a business and its one that generates a fairly good amount of business as well, but putting a little effort into improving quality really wouldn't hurt. Although 21.99 is a pretty good deal, gas station stale sushi is definitely not worth the savings in price.
This AYCE sushi buffet isn't the best option for good sushi, but if you want to scarf down butt loads of sushi at a fixed price, this is the place to go if you want to induce yourself into a brolic sushi coma.
My biggest pet peeve against this place is that they never give you exactly what you order. I've been coming here for years and not once have I been given an order with all of my sushi pieces in it. Sometimes they give you things that you didn't even order. Yeah you can order it again just to get it, but you shouldn't have to.
The quality of sushi isn't too bad, they have a wide variety of rolls and sushi pieces as well as a decked out appetizer section (personal favorites: fried calamari and the croquettes). The highlight of this place for me is the all you can eat ice cream. I always accompany each bite with some fried banana and man…..that is some knarly stuff.
If you're going for quantity or quality, this is your kind of sushi restaurant. Just remember your order so when you check your platter, you can make sure all of your sushi is in there. If not, time to bust out the pen and paper and submit your order again.
Endless amount of food for 22 dollars???!!!!!! Yes. Much yes. However the special rolls are really mushy. You're better off sticking with the sashimi and the appetizers!! We ordered an enormous amount of red clam, salmon, tuna, it was all good. The calamari was good, so was the crab salad. The croquette was also very good!
I've never gotten sick from the food here. That's usually a large concern with AYCE sushi so get that out of the way right away.
Waiters are usually attentive and quick to find you. Sushi chefs are pretty fast. I would advise going light on the kitchen food.
There are some sushi rolls on the menu that don't have enough information on when they serve them because every time I've gone and ordered the sashimi roll, it's never come out. The food is alright simply because of quantity.
Better than sushi or sashimi spots in most of lower Brooklyn like in Bensonhurst or whatnot (i.e. Sake). Definitely would hit this place up than any of the previous mentioned spots/areas. The freshness quality is better but the consistency of how they present/produce rolls to you is subpar. You can tell it was made it a rush (yeah I get the high traffic but it was seriously a mess sometimes). Yes, it's all you can eat and it's cool how you can pay a set price for an assortment of rolls but unless 1. your really hungry or 2. on a budget it's just plain average. Be expected to wait on late nights and weekends.
Beware the waitresses are such douchebags and have the B face. The place gets packed early and quickly on Friday which was the day I went with my family. The rude service was unfortunate but the food was great and there were 6 sushi chefs rolling away. Don't expect a friendly service every time.
