I started coming to this truck before they changed their name. I kept forgetting my card though so now I have 5-6 different cards w/ a couple stamps on each =X.
The workers are very nice, make great recommendations, and I haven't gotten anything yet that I wasn't pleased with. The prices can be a bit steep, but you get what you pay for.
The July 2012 sweet treats challenge has pushed me to give Sweetery a try. I see the truck parked outside my office now and then, so I figured today was the day to see what it's all about.
I got one snicker doodle cookie and a red velvet whoopie pie. The whoopie pie is not sweet at all; in fact, I don't really taste much of anything to tell you honestly. So that one is a pass for me. The snicker doodle cookie was okay. I liked how it was soft, and it was a decent size for $2, but not really enough to blow me away.
Next!
Despite its name, I've only ever gotten savory things from here (maybe because I stop by in the mornings). The spinach croissant is quite good, but can get a bit soggy depending on the time of day you buy it.
Almost made my "MEH" list but barely squeaked by.
This truck is occasionally parked at 86th street on the UES over the weekends and decided to give it a try a few days ago.
Iced coffee for $2.50 was as good as anywhere else. Not bad.
Snickerdoodle cookie for $2.00 that was a decent size but nothing mind blowing about the taste. It was ok.
Biggest disappointment was the pretty lame seasonal pumpkin whoopie pie. For a waste of $2 this thing was actually small and flavorless. There was not a burst of pumpkin flavor as I was expecting. I might have well been chewing on a piece of cardboard with some cream filling.
Guy working the truck seemed nice enough and I realize how hard it is to run your own business. They even have a loyalty card for the truck which is pretty cool. As far as food trucks go I guess this one is a A-OK if looking for a quick snack and coffee while on your way somewhere else.
Ya know what…5 stars! Possibly a 4.5 but lets go with a 5.
YUMMY…TASTY… SATISFYING THAT SWEET TOOTH Y'ALL!
Bought a bunch of stuff from this truck today to share with my boyfriend. And ya know it was just all awesome. The flavors were incredible… everything was fresh…food was at a good temperature for being in a glass case in the sun… and the lady working the truck was just a doll!
Caught it today over on 17th street right before union square. I really hope i do not pass it again because it is going to be hard not to buy everything.
I got a varied of different cookies and bars… all amazing… i can not wait to try the cupcakes…
the only thing that kind of bothered me for a few of the cookies were the sweetness level. Now I am a fan of sweet, I am the queen of it. However a few of the cookies were so sweet that i could tell a difference in my heart rate…. that worried me lol…
but then other cookies would be just perfect…
And …do not get me started on the carmel cookie sandwich thing i had…. might be one of the best cookies i have ever had… literally ever.
this truck was sent by the devil to turn us all into diabetics… its winning… winning so good.
DELICIOUS Belgian hot chocolate. Yes, a tad overpriced, but it's seriously so perfect on a cold fall/winter day. The chocolate is so rich you feel like you're drinking joy and happiness and unicorn tears. Yes, it's loaded with sugar but worth every calorie/sugar gram.
Also had a snickerdoodle and it was very underwhelming.

-3.5 stars because it was FREE with friendly service!
-Saw this truck in front of Palladium with almost no line. I'm thinking "Sure why not, let's give it a try. Can't be more than $7 right?" Guess what, its FREE! Yes, free cheese and crackers!
-After getting my free samples and taking photos like an Elite Yelper, I noticed the line was practically blocking the whole sidewalk. The line got long fast!
Cheese from most favorite:
-Weissbier was my favorite! The texture was slightly soft with a smooth and somewhat creamy consistency. I could definitely taste teh hint of nutty sweetness.
-Hirten was a bit tougher cheese due to the crumbly texture. Salty with some hints of sweet caramel overtone
-Bergkase was bleh. Too firm and odd flavors of mountain herbs.
I love the idea of a dessert truck. You always see street meat trucks, sandwich trucks, ice cream trucks, but never dessert trucks.
Sweetery offers lots of different sweet goodies but my all time favorite treat is the Macarella. Gooey nutella sandwiched in between a flat coconut macaroon. Yes, macaroon (the traditional passover dessert), not to be confused with macaron (the french meringue-based cookie).
