This frozen yogurt place is very standard. I come here when I am craving bubble tea, and I normally get the lychee slush, which is surprisingly REALLY good. Swirl Fun is also a little on the expensive side, so I consider a treat here a splurge. Not only that, but they discontinued their rewards stamp card where you purchase a certain number of items and get one free, for a cheaper one where you get $3 off instead. I was one stamp away and ask if I could keep mine, but they said I had to give it back. I found that stingy and it rubbed me the wrong way, but I still visit this establishment–just not as frequently.
Froyo, smoothies, crepes, and bubble tea? Check,Check,Check,and Check.
That's it. Kidding. The takeaway here is there's nothing special here. They have a good location… easy to get to and next to the up-and-coming Panera Bread opening up next door. They're going to do alright and they're going to be busy. However, that's where it goes south from that point on.
The froyo is just ok, but I've noticed it gets watery from time to time… and they have upwards of 8-10 flavors to choose from,of which only classic and pomegranate which appeal to me. Why not add new seasonal flavors to keep things interesting? The toppings like other places I've reviewed in Bay Ridge are hit or miss… sometimes fresh fruit, other times not. They've also raised prices fairly recently from 45 to 49 cents now.
The loyalty card program is, from my point of view, shameful. Buy 8, get $3 off. The average ticket on froyo is $4-5. What a deal. Put it another way, it's not compelling enough a reason to keep me coming.
I will be back to try out the bubble tea though since there are few options in Bay Ridge. I'd give them 3.5 stars but I'm rounding down here.
I had the small strawberry flavor frozen yogurt and it comes with 3 toppings. Their yogurt is not my type of yogurt. It tasted more like ice cream, it's very smooth, creamy, and a bit liquidity and not solid. I tried a sample of the original flavor, it was tart but the taste and texture was not great. I've experienced better.
This is a very nice little froyo location in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. It is very close to the train and the employees are positively jubilant to serve you. I tried every. single. flavor. And settled for tart and one other I cannot remember, though all were very good. I do wish they had more available flavors, but they make up for it with a large selection of toppings to go with your froyo.
In a nutshell: Good price, friendly service and great location.
