  1. UNDERRATED- big time.

Swung by for a quick hot and sour soup adventure, and ended up getting a little Teriyaki stick of beef as well.

The hot and sour soup was delicious – among the best I've had. Really thick, which is how I prefer that soup to be. I think a very liquid-y hot and sour isn't that too, so this place got that right. However, it wasn't as sour as I'd hoped, but as it went on, the taste was very good.

The teriyaki sticks weren't bad — dry, though. I was hoping to get some beef sticks that looked freshly glazed with a nice marinade, but instead, got a nicely flavored, dry version. It wasn't bad, but I would've loved a wet version. I also asked for teriyaki sauce on the side, and they "didn't have it." Kind of weird…

All and all, $13 for a lunch meal? Not shabby.

  2. Lunch menu items range from 6.75 – 7.25 and include a soup and chips. I went with the Chick Ta Chien I believe and would say it was pretty good. Would have preferred more peppers and less celery and personally I wasn't a fan of the spongy type mushrooms but I don't like mushrooms much as it is. The dish was actually spicy which is nice for a change, all in all it was pretty good.

  3. It's the best most consistent Chinese food in the area! We mostly do take-out and the service is fast fast! We only ate in once maybe twice and the service was slow. This review is for take-out.

We always get the chicken with broccoli and shrimp fried rice. The chicken and broccoli is very good and is typically very fresh and flavorful. The shrimp fried rice is awesome, plenty of shrimp and fresh onions. The egg roles are crispy and hot.  Haven't really order much of anything else but I am sure looking forward to trying other items when the mood strikes me.

I like the fact that when you order the food is ready in like 10 minutes and it's hot. Friendly take-out service.

  4. I've  only had take out but it's proved to be the best I've had in the area. The wonton soup , lo mein  and orange beef are good. They have one or two lamb dishes and I intend to try them. You get tea and fortune cookies with your order and they are pretty quick. So at present my Chinese to go to . Better I think than China Fan.

  5. Went here for lunch a few days ago.
Service is bad like they always are at Chinese lunch spots. They are looking to rush you out. Food comes out in a jiffy which is the hook for a quick lunch. Food wasn't that bad. Had the steamed chicken and broccoli (went healthy for like a day…) with brown rice. Came with wonton soup (not so healthy). Order took about 10 mins to get, 8 minutes to eat and 30 seconds to pay as the waiter stands around you as you are eating your last grain of rice. They have good lunch prices as well. Worth a stop in for lunch. ENJOY!

  6. We come here any time we have a special occasion and want something a little special.  Their seafood is great – very fresh and lots of preparation options.  They also serve several different varieties of Chinese vegetables, not just the standard "American" stuff like broccoli and snow peas.

I highly recommend the Mongolian beef (it's fun to listen to the sizzle as they prepare it tableside) as well as the steamed sea bass.  We've never been disappointed with either of these dishes, and we have had them dozens of times over the years.

  7. Good Chinese food, not the best (compared to nyc) but definitely above average for the area.

I have been here a couple of times. The price is ok and the portions for the meat dishes are pretty decent sized.

They get pretty good business which ensures fresher food.

I have had ribs with peking sauce here as well as salt and pepper ribs.  The flavor was good for both though it seemed there was a bit too much batter around the meat.

The crispy pan fried beef noodles had a delicious,  fresh taste though the portion was a touch small.

The food is served quite fast after you order.  The service is not the most attentive (both times I went our waiter never checked on us after we received our food) but when we did interact they were pleasant enough.

My impression was that the menu is a bit more limited here compared to Jade Isle in Scotch Plains but the food here tasted fresher than at Jade.
