“So it may be typical, it may be a greasy spoon, but it's my fave in the Neighborhood!”

“They also do a fine breakfast and they're not afraid to give something a shot if it isn't on the menu either.”

  1. It's awesome that they open 24 hours on Friday but I ordered French toast and while the photo looks good it has no taste. Had to use tons of butter and syrup. And I usually need very little taste for my food to be healthy but this was simply too bland. The fries were okay. Nothing spectacular and didn't hit my diner craving. A bit disappointed. Service and owner are friendly so I give them four stars.

  2. The best diner in Forest Hills and they open 24 hours! I love the fact that I can just come here for breakfast at any hour of the day.

Very friendly staff, clean environment, close to public transportation, and affordable prices.

I have no complaints about their selection of breakfast options. I'm a sucker for their chocolate pancakes and home fries.

  3. After a long day of playing board games nearby, some friends and I just wanted to grab some grub and quickly go back to our game. It was a weekend night and the place was pretty empty. After reading the yelp reviews, I was pretty scared of what I was getting myself into. However, a few of my friends have been here before and they said that it's not as bad as it seems. They were right. I actually enjoyed my meal but my boyfriend, not so much.

I ordered a grilled chicken panini with a side of fries and my boyfriend ordered an omelet with a side of home fries. The food came relatively quick. I took a bite into my panini and the chicken breast filets were actually pretty moist. The fries were standard. On the other hand, the omelet was pretty bland. The home fries were even blander. I could not eat it without dousing some salt and the whole thing of pepper on the omelet dish. However, the portion for the price was pretty huge. I was only able to eat 2/3 of my panini before I called it quits.

In all, I enjoyed my experience at T Bone Diner. We were able to get in and out fairly quickly and leaving with our stomachs full. The service was also really friendly and they made sure our glasses were filled. While I probably won't come here again, it is not a bad place to get food fast (especially since they're open all throughout the night).

  4. This place is DIRTY (and overpriced for the quality). Save your dignity and money. Enough said.

At first, we were seated in the back area and had to move because it smelled like human pee. I looked around to see if it could have been an elderly person, but there was only one, young man in the section with us. It was putrid…it smelled like a dirty, old man diaper. We moved to the front area.

The front area was equally as gross. The floor was so greasy and slippery, I could slide across it like Elvis Presley. The water cups had a weird stench to them. And my boyfriend's silverware was dirty with dried food. At this point, I was about to vomit. I looked closer at everything…and the place is just so greased up…it looks like a bottle of L.A. Looks super strength hair gel. Just gross!!!!!

We ordered breakfast, could barely eat, paid our overpriced tab, and left. Never again, man.

  5. Came here for a late breakfast with my wife.  It looked to me like a traditional mom and pop diner/coffee shop.   I ordered  a western omelet which I thought to be a safe choice.  The food turned out to be fine.  Not amazing… but not bad either.  Service was attentitive with my coffee being refilled many times without asking.

Minus one star for value.  @$10 by western omelet was not crazy expensive but not exactly a bargain.

  6. 4 stars because drunk me always "loves me some T-bone junk food" past midnight. Honestly I have never gotten food here during the day but at 3 am I know for a fact that their burgers and sweet potato fries taste like heaven!

It has that old diner feel and a friendly staff which is really all you need at your local 24/7 diner. Their menu is extensive but as a repeat costumer after midnight I like to stick to my burger cravings.

Drunken me recommend, and sober me asks you to keep in mind that most diners has food that taste like all other diners so don't bring your hate if you don't really like diner food to begging with!

  7. Stopped by here once with a friend to chat. I was tempted to order the classics, such as pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs, and some bacon with a side of OJ, but keeping in mind of the admonitions from reviews of fellow yelpers, my foodie instinct advised against it as well. Instead, I ordered a slice of an oh-so devilishly tempting and mouthwatering Chocolate Oreo Cake while my friend decided to stick with plain-old lemon water. I was utterly disappointed. It tasted dry, old, and not fresh(every foodie's worst nightmare). I felt sick and could feel my mood getting worse with each bite. My friend's drink had a slice of lemon with the sticker still attached onto it, which raises a red flag about the way this diner handles produce in general.

I admire how T-Bone Diner has been around since 1948, but it really needs to stop cutting corners. Definitely not a place worthy of your time and money, especially with far better and more established diners out there.

  8. I came here once after my kickboxing class with some girlfriends. It was really late and our usual spots were already closed so the diner it was. We were extremely hungry since we just burned over 800 calories in our class. I wasn't really impressed with the service or the food. It's diner food so it can be a hit or a miss in some places. I'm not saying I it was so horrible I didn't eat what I ordered; I did clean my plate but then again I did just come from a serious workout. It's an old school diner that have their old time regulars come it. Some old timers were yelling at each other for a good few mins and no one stopped them. They seemed like regulars maybe and just want to argue with each other. Some entertainment while you wait for your food to be prepared. The food came out quickly and was a very large portion. If you're in the neighborhood really late and hungry this is the only place you'll find open for some grub; I give you a star for that. If the food had more flavor I would be more of a fan. I'll give them another shot, maybe when I came the chef was having a bad night.
