Tabboule
“A good little vegan-friendly restaurant in the middle of northern NJ, about 7 minutes west off Rte 17 (just north of Paramus).”
“Thank god Shukri (Chuck), the chef always behind the counter, recently bought the place himself and is lowering all the prices back!”
“We shared a falafel platter which was awesome– very crisp, the way I like it.”

Ordered delivery to frankllin lakes (5 miles away) at 8 PM and the delivery took nearly 1.5 hrs to arrive. The 3 chicken schwarmas came with pita bread in a pre-packaged wrapper, like it came from the supermarket. The food itself wasnt bad, but the extremely long delivery time soured my whole experience. Three dollar delivery charge was a nice insult to injury as well.
This is a good place for nice, simple, fresh middle eastern/lebanese food near Kings in Ridgewood, across from the library. They have a nice array of traditional dishes and their appetizers such as walnut spread or pepper sauce – we like them for takeout but I see many have eaten there and it is a clean with helpful servers.
Note for me a 3 star is a good solid rating; means i would recommend if you live in the area and want this type of food come here to eat.
This is like a little hole-in-the-wall, but it's clean and has seating and a small waitstaff. The falafel is often fresh. The shawarma is great, chicken or lamb. They make a few salads that are good and always fresh. The lentil soup, alas, is disappointing.
I've been here at least a dozen times over the past couple of years and they're pretty consistent. And the other day they were handing out a pair of free falafel sandwiches with seemingly every order.
If the restaurant executes the dish they are named after to a level below mediocre, that says it all. The worst meal I have had in years. Avoid at all costs.
Good Shwarma, good prices.
Edit: Pricy by the standards I have now, but the food here is still solid. The lebanese esausage is recommended heavily.
Edit: downgrading to a 3 (but it'll increase if I have that Pom/walnut dip as usual)
Food was ok, went there for lunch and had a cup of lentil soup, and a falafel wrap.
The waiter (looked like the owner) had no personality, and charged us for bowls of soup instead of cups, which was surprising because we had clearly said we wanted cups. Don't let the name "Fine Lebanese Cuisine" fool you into thinking that this is a "fine dining" restaurant… it is far from it. It's more like cafeteria/takeout dining.
Came for Mother's Day dinner the other day after a concert of mine with family. We had a reservation, but hadn't needed one since when we arrived early at 4:30 for a 5PM reservation, they hadn't even opened for dinner yet, and when they did, we were the only ones there for a long while. So, our one server, who I think was also acting as a hostess and clearly was the daughter in this family-owned eatery, was very very attentive and solicitous to us (if even a bit too much) and went so far as to make it seem like we were eating dinner at someone's house rather than in a restaurant. She was suggesting many things to us, and I even felt guilty at not taking some of her suggestions! Of course, the food was absolutely delicious. My family and I are huge foodies, so it's quite a compliment when we say to someone who works there that we definitely will be coming back! The grape leaves were as fresh as could be, as if they'd been picked and prepared that day. I've never had hummus so good to the point it has made me like hummus more, in general. The thing with Middle Eastern food is that you can easily fill up on appetizers and little things alone, so take that into consideration as you're choosing what to order! A delicious and lovely experience.
Came here for dinner with a Grupon. The waitress we had was very friendly, and the food was delicious. My boyfriend had beef shwarma, and I had chicken kebab. We also split a baklava for dessert. They are also BYOB.
