I live in the Bronx, home of the no late-night munch spots, so when I found myself in Jamaica, Queens, I was super psyched to learn of this famous taco truck. It is your basic, no frills taco truck, with one exception, the tacos are friggin' amazing!!! My fiancé and I had the chicken, steak and chorizo tacos. The steak taco had to be one of the best steak tacos I have ever had… No Joke! The chicken and chorizo were equally as good. I believe it was about midnight on a Tuesday and the truck had quite a crowd… good sign. I uploaded some pics, take a look and stop by, it is worth the trip.
If late night munchies strike after you've pick up your drugs from your dealer, turn the corner and swing by this late night taco truck in the middle of Jamaica, they're opened till 1:30!
being the consummate night owl that I'm, after a bout of slight insomnia, I decided that I wanted something quick, cheap, delicious and close by. Well 2 out of 4 isn't too bad, as the tacos here were pretty subpar and they gouge you on price, as far as tacos are concerned since they're the only game open this late at night in this part of town.
I ordered the al pastor, steak and the chorizo with the works which included cilantro, guacamole sauce, and a ton of chopped up onions for no absolutely no reason at all. came home and bit into these bad boys to discover that not only was the meat incredibly dry and way too salty, that the onions were also incredibly overpowering and pretty much enveloped any other flavors the taco had to offer. maybe this was a fluke, ordered from this place once before and the onions were not as strong, but the meat was still pretty subpar from what I remember.
so just like the drugs you've picked up, you could probably find better!
Food: sober or wasted the tacos off this truck is amazinggggggggggggg. Don't have a bad thing to say about the taco or the man behind the meat. We got the beef tongue, steak, pork and sausage, with all the fixings. Everything was so well seasoned and cooked to perfection!! The guacamole, the lime, hot sauce is so perfect. Be careful for the jalapeños and onions, it is very spicy!!!!! I love spice but they can really make you sweat.
Brew: they don't sell beer so I brought my own. I started with a corona but ended with a Goose Island IPA to calm down the heat.
Overall very good truck food for the price (2.50-2.75 per taco)
