  1. Came here on a random Wednesday–grateful that it was still open when we were creeping in there close to 11pm with an appetite..but that was also a problem
–close to closing=server not giving two craps (*Holy Week just ended so I won't use an expletive instead of the word crap)*

-So besides the server forgetting just about everything–napkins, water, extra plates, and his personality at home..The place isn't as bad as my 3 stars suggest!

Apps-the fried vegetarian dumplings were amazing, crispy and flavorful (unlike our server)

    Entrees
-"Fun In Black" was very similar to Drunken Noodles (which by the way the waiter had no idea what that was -__-) Well made, flavorful, and my friend enjoyed my dish more than hers
-"Mi Xao Dun"  the crispy noodles idea was cool, the sauce was also ok, but for some reason the dish just fell flat (like my server's personality). Probably wouldn't recommend this one

    Drinks
There was a Pear something drink that had me tipsy mid-drink (slurred speech, facial droop, very stroke-like symptoms). Came in a girly martini glass but it was all manly. Well-done bar keep!

-Overall, decent food, gracious portions, the VAST menu selection, cool ambience/decor (sofa dining seating), and $$ pricing makes this place just slightly above average–I wouldn't impress anyone bringing them here but to chill/hang out if you're in the area I recommend this spot.

  2. Tacu Tacu is two floors, both with different vibes and both equally as impressive. The first floor is like a lounge area were you can kick back after a hard day of work and get a drink. They have tables to sit at and a bar in the center for your drinking pleasure. When I arrived I wasn't able to get the full lay of the land because my friend took me downstairs to the second floor. Comfortable sofas and a bar, this area was for a party. They had Karaoke night and the people packed in. This was a treat for me because I didn't know. I also felt because it was a night of song and dance I had to serenade the good people at the bar with my amazing vocals. I did a old school song to get things going. I did a piece written by Christopher Wallace a.k.a. Biggie Smalls called Big Poppa that got a lot of the patrons playing old school. Actually one guy sang a confusing song call "Panda" and he had no clue what he was doing while performing it. Anyway it was a great time. My only negative was that my friend didn't sing. She picked a song but somehow got out of it because she claimed it was late. It's definitely a spot to visit if your ever in Williamsburg.

  3. I'm a little disappointed. I came here seven years ago and have been craving their lomo soltado for quite some time. The food has changed drastically. I ordered the beef lomo soltado. The beef was on the dry side. The strawberry daquiri is a typical daquiri. My fiancé ordered the chicharron and the porton sour. His drink had a lot of bitters in it. On the bright side, their portions are huge and the staff is friendly. I wish it were the Tacu Tacu seven years back, but hey..  things change.

  4. Weird spot… We came around 7pm on a weeknight and it was really dark, really empty and the decor was like half restaurant half club? I don't know what to think about any of it. I loved the bottomless plantain chips and my coconut drink tasted like I was at the beach, but the chocolate empanadas were eh. Service was also incredibly slow and infrequent. Prices were great though so I can't complain about that.

  5. Make this one short and sweet. I got the Vietnamese spring rolls and my buddy Rob got the calamari.

The spring rolls were small but very tastey. They came with a sweet chili sauce you'd expect at McDonalds for your nuggets.

Robs calamari was OK… It came with a "white" sauce… The server claimed it was a pepper ranch type of sauce. Both of us thought it was completely tasteless and made literally no impact on the taste of the calamari whatsoever.

    Bottled beer was great!! 😉

  6. This has got to be one of my favorite places to eat. The steak cubes are a must here. The pineapple chicken is also really good. For appetizers the wings and rocket shrimp are up there! Coconut rice with the entree is a must! The drinks here are also real yummy!

  7. One of my favorite asian fusion restaurants. The pineapple chicken with coconut rice keeps me coming back here. It's served in a pineapple and is just perfect in every way. The steak cubes and the lettuce wraps are absolutely delicious. They have a karaoke bar downstairs which is very convenient if you're coming here with a large group of friends.

  8. I've been here plenty of times with in the last year. The Peruvian menu is the way to go. The seafood's fresh and the roasted chicken is seasoned well. I really liked the plantain chips and green/orange sauce they give you instead of bread.

Unfortunately, the drinks are a bit watered down. The good thing is, during the week they offer $3 shots at the bar until 8pm. You can't mess up a shot of tequila right!?

The food menu is extensive. The pupu platter is good for 2 people to share. I was surprisingly pleased with the Angel Wings (the non buffalo ones). They were just the right amount of crispy. Be warned the portions here are large, for both the Asian and Peruvian menu. So come hungry or share if possible.

The restaurant is large so there's always seating available. The only really bad thing about this restaurant is the wait for service. It takes a long time to place an order. We waited about 20 minutes just to put in our drink order and it wasn't packed. After the 20 minutes was up, I went to the bar and brought drinks back to our table. This wasn't the first time I waited awhile to order my meal.

I'm sure I'll return here for the food but I'll have to have patience and I'll probably pass on getting cocktails.
