  1. Got the green salad and while the ginger dressing was good, I am not a fan of iceberg lettuce green salads on a plate. Is rather a bowl and lettuce that isn't so large that you have to cut it.

Got my usual, tuna avocado rolls. I used to get the yellowtail scallion but remembered I thought it was a bit fishy tasting the last time I had it.

The rice is bordering on a little overlooked, but still I enjoyed it.

Tried my husbands spicy scallop which was tasty!

    Good service and quick.

  2. another "sushi" place catered to americans

over priced…. sushi rolls with stupid names

  3. I ordered some rolls and shared the fried oysters.  The fried oysters were decent and the fish at least didn't give me any issues later if you catch my drift but other than that it was not remarkable.  Pretty standard but don't recall the sushi even being tasty.  Shared the fried cheesecake for dessert.  That was good.  Uploaded a photo.

  4. Went with a friend to Taka for a switch-up of the normal sushi spots I go to. I wasn't sure exactly what I was getting into, but the prices online looked pretty good and decided to give it a shot. I was pleased with the decision.

Walked in and immediately observed that I shouldn't walk into the glass, which has a large sticker on it saying "NOT A GLASS DOOR!" Gotchya.

My friend and I decided to sit at the bar since it wasn't too crowded (6pm on a Tuesday night) and our server came over immediately. Ordered the Dragon Roll ($11) and a regular Tuna Roll ($4) and both were very tasty. The staff was very helpful and actually gave us some suggested rolls, just in case we didn't want to look at the menu. After demolishing my delicious two rolls for $15,  we hopped out to some 'goodbyes' from the staff.

I am coming back here…fo sho.

  5. I came in on a Saturday evening & slowly watched this place go from full to desolate, back to full…
The salad had far too much dressing…slightly to be expected but this was more than your average Japanese restaurant.
I ordered spicy crab roll & spicy salmon which were both very good! Surprisingly you didn't see the spicy sauce on the salmon, only on the crab. The waiters were good but not overly attentive. They let my water glass get empty & I wanted something to drink with all the spice!
I'd say the prices were fair, not too cheap, not expensive.
This is your Average sushi bar. You won't be disappointed, but nothing to run home about.

  6. Taka Sushi is a TERRIFIC place to dine with anybody for a solid meal in a great area. The location is awesome (Summit center, very nice), and it's only about a 10 minute drive from where I am in Union. Came here earlier this evening with a buddy of mine for some sushi…

The setting is beautiful — dimly lit, spacious, bar seats, and booths/tables are great. It's extremely clean and just has the vibe of an overall well-kept place to dine. The staff, as many have said, is very friendly and cordial. The sushi itself was delicious — fresh and very tasty. I got 3 rolls — Yellowtail, and 2 Spicy Tuna rolls. They were all great — I tapped it off with some red bean ice cream, which hit the SPOT PERFECTLY.

The entire meal was about $20, which was PERFECT. Rolls weren't too pricey (about $1 more than I'm used to — no big deal), and the ice cream was $3.00. Overall, a terrific experience, and I'd DEFINITELY stop in here again.

  7. It was really dark inside. My co-worker and I went for lunch. We ordered the two roll special. It came out to about $13.15 for me and a little less for hers. I got the salmon skin roll and the eel roll. It wasn't a lot of food, wasn't all that filling, but it's sushi in Summit, which is a wealthier neighborhood. They give you these cute little fruity gum boxes at the end, which I loved since I used to have them as a kid all the time. Cute place, but it didn't wow me. It seemed like just another sushi place to me. Nothing special.

  8. Back for more at our local restaurant. ..yum! Bf remained consistent with beef negimaki which he loved. I split some sushi with a friend. ..my favorite and always excellent. ..jumbo Taka Roll.  We tried the Terri roll…salmon with avocado and crispy outside which was a little plain, but very smooth and creamy.

Our disappointment was with the spicy salmon roll. It was definitely chopped salmon,  but Nooo spice.  Waitress' response was to offer to bring us hot mayo.  We opted to ask for regular hot sauce which made the roll tolerable. ..but still just mediocre.

This really struck a chord because about a year ago, I ordered a spicy tuna roll there. Out came an orange colored spicy salmon roll that they insisted was tuna.  The manager offered to bring another which I said that I did not want if it was the same filling as in the roll that I received. …out came another spicy salmon rolll!!!!  Anyway, I will never again order another spicy chopped roll again! !! The other food is great!
