Tamashii Ramen
“We had the gyoza, shrimp dumplings, octopus balls, pork buns and tamashii ramen.”
“I do think it is the best I have had in Queens without a doubt (way better than HinoMaru).”
“There is a lot of space (unlike Okidoki) and the Veggie Ramen is delicious (unlike Hinomaru, seriously their veggie ramen is gross!).”

Arrived on a Sunday afternoon/evening and was seated immediately. The decor is very similar to other Ramen spots in NYC. To cut to the chase, I ordered the Takoyaki (pretty good, definitely recommend it) as well as the Miso ramen. The Miso ramen was good, but to be honest I feel like something was missing, it did fall short of my expectations. They have a decent variety of Sake and Beers here ($4.50 draft, $3.50 bottles) or $10 ish for a bottle of Soju. The service here was friendly and the food came out quick. If you are in the area and you are looking for a place to get a nice warm bowl of Ramen, I recommend giving Tamashii a try.
PS. It was easy to find parking.
Tamashii has decent ramen for Astoria. I ordered the Kara-miso ramen and was very pleased that it automatically comes with an egg without having to order it as a side. The broth was flavorful and deep, but slightly more on the oily and miso-heavy side for my liking. The noodles were nice and firm. Overall, it was alright/good ramen but nothing special.
The server was friendly and the service was fast. If I lived or worked in the area, Tamashii most likely would have been my go to ramen spot, but since I don't, I can't say I would travel for it.
I've been here for about three times now and Tamashi Ramen definitely hits the spot. Now only if they can deliver. Each time we go there the usual is the tako wasabi. My husband and I we both love the Kara spicy miso Ramen. The noodles are nice thick and wavy al dente. Very delicious to the bite! The chasu pork is yummy, filling and very substantial. I love the tiny piece of pork and corn that included with the soft boiled egg. If only I could fit more in my tummy I would definitely wanna try other items outside of Ramen.
We end up at this ramen joint after watching a movie nearby. The menu offers a variety of ramen in addition to Korean specialties and appetizers. The service was rather lacking for a slow night. We waited around for a bit before one of the servers took our order. She didn't even glance at us. Just stared at the floor, smiled and noted our order. I had the Shoyu ramen and Hub had the spicy Kara Miso ramen. We also had the pork buns. Overall, the food was good. Everything was prepared and cooked fresh. When we were done, the server was prompt with the check. Strangely, she was staring straight into the wall while asking if we would like anything else. Maybe it's the rain or the slow night. No idea. We noticed a lot of the patrons were still chatting and hanging out even when they were done. It doesn't appear to be rushed. Def a good choice for a quick dinner. I would give it a 3.5 stars since the service could had been better.
When you've been in the car traveling for four hours and hungry, seeing a highly rated ramen place open to accommodate late night travelers is a godsend.
When I first stepped in, it instantaneously reminded me of Daikokuya out in LA, which got me super excited. I ordered the kara miso ramen. And honestly, I thought it was subpar.
It's a decent ramen place, but I probably wouldn't hike out of the city (if you're in NYC) to Astoria for this.
Good mid-tier ramen, place is always busy and they have a lot of other good food on the menu but recent japanese restaurants have knocked them down a couple notches for me.
Very good. Great service. The waitress was really great because I'm a vegetarian and helped me choose the right soup base. Also since it was my first time, she helped me put the spicy flavor on the side. Prices are also very reasonable. Will definitely come back.
I rather go to Hinomaru on Ditmars for better quality noodles.
