  1. Recently visited this establishment after a few years hiatus.  It was for an early dinner on a Friday afternoon and to my surprise the place was already crowded.  Upon entry we were seated promptly, water was provided, bread placed on the table and soup of the day, which to my wonderful surprise was asparagus soup.  It was very tasty and filling, not leaving much room for the rest of my meal. We shared a carafe of red sangria, delicious, just enough kick and not too sweet :). They offer a wide variety of seafood dishes, tapas and appetizer, there're also a lot of vegan friendly options.  I usually get a few tapas that make up a meal and call it a day.  Their saffron rice is very good topped off with peas and picked red peppers, along with home made potato chips (my favorite) and mixed vegetables cooked in garlic and olive oil.  For seafood fanatics, this would be the go to place if you're in the area, at a very reasonable price too.

  2. Food was great. Service was exceptional. The waiters went out of their way to accommodate food allergies. Red Sangria reminded me of Barcelona. Will definitely be returning.

  3. My friends and I do a Dinner of the Month and this place served as that this months, April, except it was lunch. We ordered two appitizers, fried calamari and some other egg vegetable chorizo thing which was really good. The calamari was ok not usually a fan of calamari but will eat it. This one wasn't good enough for me.

For meals I got a tilapia dish that was on the specials and they give you a lot. I had three pieces of tilapia with spinach and potatoes. I had left overs for another lunch and dinner.  The tapas menu looked good but maybe next time. All of our plates had plenty of food. They plate some of it for you then leave the extra on the side.

We also had two pitchers of red sangria. Really good!!! I think they soak the fruit in pure alcohol before adding it to the sangria.  They have a few different choices of sangria but we stuck with red!

Parking is street parking only but I easily found parking on a side street very close by! Great place and would go again if I lived in the area.

  4. I honestly don't even know how to rate Tapas.

I had a private party here and there were lots of pros/cons.

Pros: private party space, decent pricing on packages that include drinks, flexible with time (let us stay a half hour longer), charged us by person day of and not our original headcount, the staff at the party were super nice and friendly, food was delicious and plentiful

    But…
Cons: the staff leading up to the day were TERRIBLE!!!!! I'm tempted to say I've never experienced such disrespectful, unhelpful people, it was horrendous considering the fact that I am paying for a service. The manager or owner was extremly condescending. They were not flexible at all, refused to be open minded about how the tables could be set up. It was not their rejection of our requests but the attitude. The manager literally stared me down and gave me the worst attitude because the room must have been 80 degrees but he insisted it was 60. It felt like a sauna and they tried to tell me there was nothing they could do about it. That's their thing, they can't do anything, everything is a hassle. Mind you I am bringing in 70 people to.their business.

Never, ever again. There are too many similarly priced places in the area. Read my other reviwes, I am not a picky person. They were seriously the most rude group of men (the manager and guys who showed us the space)- aside from the waiter and bartender at my party.

They are not worth the drama. Charthouse and waterside have similar pricing for brunch/lunch packages with way better ambiance, views and professionalism!

  5. I cannot believe I have never reviewed Tapas!  I have been to tapas numerous times.  I've been to private events, the bar, and for dinner with a small group.

The bar is always ver busy on a Friday/Saturday night.  Lots of people and a great atmosphere.  Many people love their sangria.  (Since, I'm allergic to apples I can't give an honest review.)  There drinks are all great, and the service is quick.  The small plate tapas are also very yummy.  They always serve a complimentary bowl of soup when a meal is ordered.

When have dinner at a table the service is also great!  I do, however, enjoy the small tapas plates better then a large entree.  The party space above is completely private it even has a separate entrance that can be utilized.  I'm sure I'll be dining here again sometime in the near future.

  6. Came here on a Sunday with a group of friends. We made reservations and they honored them right on time. Parking can be a little tricky, but Sundays make it easier b/c you dont have to pay for meters.
The bread was really good here. I could have eaten the whole loaf. We had calamari and the spanish omelette appetizer. The omelette thing was quite flavorful and calamari was average.

I ordered the mariscada in garlic sauce. It was average. Not bad, not great. Everyone enjoyed their meals.

Sangria was definitely the best part!!! Really good here! Get a pitcher or two!
Service was also great, and prices were decent.

    Overall, this place is a-ok!

  7. When craving spanish tapas – this is my go to. I've been here for lunch/dinner multiple times and the food/service has been consistently good. It gets very busy on Friday and Saturday nights so be prepared to wait a few if you don't have a reservation. you can wait by the bar if you can find a spot.
Parking can be difficult. It's off street parking and it's a pretty busy area to begin with.

  8. I've been wanting to try this place for a while. Always super packed on the weekends with 2+ hour wait time. I finally got to try this place on a quiet Tuesday evening. I like the ambience inside. Classic Spanish/Portuguese type of restaurant. I wasn't the biggest fan of the sangria… Tasted like they overdid it on the cognac (or whatever liquor they use). Took a star off for that as well their papa a la espanola because it tasted like regular baked lays. The bread and soup before our entrees were delicious! Bread was so warm and fresh and the garlic soup was so good! I ordered mariscada al ajillo which is mixed seafood in garlic sauce. Very very good! My father ordered langostino a la Parilla and he said he's had better. Finally, the star dish of the night was my husband's paella Valencia. Huge portions! For all that food, only about $100! I would like to come back here and stick to tapas.
