This is apparently my neighborhood taco truck. He's only here in the evenings during the week, but parks all day on weekends. Despite the many tantalizing taco choices, I tried the regular platter, carnitas variety. Everything was really good, specially th juicy pork and refried beans. Not too bad for $7. I will be back for tacos, burritos, tortas, cemitas, etc.
Been here a handful of times now and have tried every taco (except vegetable…who eats vegetables….?) on the menu along with a few sopes and cemitas.
Most of their tacos have great flavor, only one I didn't really care for was the steak taco beef tongue was also only OK. favorites are spicy pork, pineapple pork, and chicken
Thought the sope was just OK – was very large, more like a huarache, flavor was OK. Eat this right away, I can see it getting soggy and gross real quick (like most everything from a taqueria).
Now the cemita…debating giving these guys the fifth star just for introducing me to the cemita…amazing. Much better than its sandwichesque brother the torta. The cemita is a lot of food, I got the spicy pork. Comes with beans, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, avocado, papalo, chipotle sauce, mayo, choice of meat all on a nice soft roll. AMAZING- good ratios. If I recommended one thing to try here it would be this. I've been to a bunch of taquerias, but garibaldi is the first place I have encountered the cemita. I know they arent the only ones that sell it, i just dont find it as easily as a taco….
Very nice dudes that work there, check the place out.
Can get slow if their are a few people already in line.
Great late night taco truck, always a line at 2-3 am on weekends. Ate here for the first time after passing it for years recently. Got the steak burrito, it was very filling and had a hint of spice, but it really was great late night food. Mamouns you've got some competition!
Great late night eats, a taco truck located near NYU, this place did not dissapoint. We had a pork, steak and chicken taco and each was just as good as the next. The soft tacos were cooked to perfection meshing the perfect mixture between soft & floury and crisp & toasty. $2.50 a taco and you get more than your money's worth! The only reason why I can't give this place 5 stars, they ran out of el pastor by the time we got there and we couldn't try that taco.
In the realm of the taco truck, this one rates high. The menu is large and naturally I went with a stock order of carnitas burrito. The spice and flavor combinations were excellent. It filled me for the remainder of the day. I want to go back. Might even happen today.
This food truck is planted most nights in front of CVS on the corner of Thompson and Bleecker. I've walked by many times and finally stopped by late last night on my way home. I ordered the steak burrito and I have no idea what was in it, because I was just that hungry. It was delicious (had a little spicy kick if that's your thing), sign me up for a return visit to try some of the tacos everybody here is raving out. If you want to avoid the drunken zombies on MacDougal street for a late night bite, look no further.
I had a breaded chicken cemita from here. I asked for it spicy and it was semi-spicy.
Excellent flavors and a deal for the price.
This truck is pretty good. Its good and very dependable – they were even on Thompson on a Sunday (its hard to find a good truck on a Sunday). Had the spicy pork tacos, which were very filling, wife had the veggie tacos which she enjoyed. Will definitely be back – its usually there late at night (big plus). I think the truck is actually called Taco King.
