  1. I came here out of feeling famished after an event at Columbia, and I savored the Chicken Torta (chicken sandwich) that I ordered from this spot, which included avocados, lettuce, tomatoes, a light mayo sauce, and cheese. It was savory, filling, and well-textured. I ate half of it inside the eatery, but left early to catch my train back to Queens. Also, it's not the cleanest place to eat (with paper strewn around the floor and a lack of space), so I would've felt uncomfortable staying there for too long.

  2. I think this will be my new go to Mexican spot though I won't know until I order from them again. My girlfriend and I ordered dinner from here a couple nights ago and I was very impressed with my meal. I got a carne enchilada torta and she got a milanesa. The were both quite large and packed full of meat and toppings. They were very flavorful and better than most tortas I've had and had legit oaxaca cheese which a lot of places try to skimp on. We ordered through seamless and my girlfriend asked for hers without jalapenos and it still had jalapenos which wasn't a huge deal but still a little annoying. I also had an horchata which was delicious, it was a little more spiced than I'm used to which was nice.

  3. YES! Finally found my go to Mexican spot in the city.

By Mexican, I don't mean my Chipotle or Qdoba. By Mexican, I mean my complementary chips & salsa, my tostadas, my sopes, my mole verdes, and my soft shell tacos.

As with other authentic Mexican hole-in-the-walls, this place is also a friendly, family-owned establishment. As such, it also includes the nice old ladies whose main goals are to make sure you're absolutely stuffed by the time you leave.

Not only is everything here delicious, from the salsa to the fresh chips to the platters, but they're all extremely affordable. This is one of the few places in the city where you can take out a $20, pay for everything including tip, get change back, and still leave feeling full and satisfied.

Now I just need more reasons to go into the city other than tacos and ramen.

PS: If you're a sticker for cleanliness, you might want to get your food to go.

  4. This is a great hole in the wall spot with really tasty food and great margaritas. The place itself is quite small but they do have indoor and outdoor seating. If the weather is nice out, you should try to sit outside. My only complaint about this place is that since it is small the whole place smells like whatever is on the grill… and so will you! This is probably a non issue for most but I personally don't like smelling like food after I leave a place.  Now onto the food which is just amazing here!  So far everything that I've tried here just tastes delicious! Everything is always seasoned well and the ingredients are fresh.  I don't think I've had anything bad here.  My absolute go to favorite is the cecina tacos with avocado slices and a margarita on the rocks.  The portions are big so 2 tacos are more than enough for me.  I usually  keep eating just because the food is soo tasty. If you're on a budget, most of the tacos are under $5.

  5. Wasn't too fond of this place. Normally I'm a sucker for a giant burrito, but it was almost TOO big. I want to be able to hold a burrito while I eat it, not have it spill all over to the point where I have to open it up and eat it with a fork. The deal was very good for the portion size and the flavors were pretty good, but I would choose a burrito from Chipotle any day.

  6. Huge and tasty giant burritos. Two people could easily split one. However, as a busy tourist, I had walked all over Manhattan to the tune of 40,000 steps in the previous two days so I didn't have a problem downing mine.

  7. Hard of hearing? Order the pig ears. We ordered one carnitas to go. If you're going to share, share wisely. One side is loaded with more salad and the other with more meat. Burrito's can be messy. Don't worry. I believe in your capacity to eat with utensils.

  8. Okay so after coming back again I have to say I love this place. The service is just top notch – I came to get take out today and was greeted with a big smile and patience while I figured out what to order.

When my food was ready they offered extra chips, more hot sauce (yes PLEASE), and a compliment on my shirt (yes, compliments will get you everywhere).

Quick, tasty, and friendly. What more can you actually ask for?
