  1. Low-brow munchies after high-brow drinks, just how I like it.

This place was… serviceable. All they do is taquitos: 3 for $5, 5 for $9. The space is narrow, but there's plenty of seating along the walls and it was abandoned at 11pm on a Friday.

I got the black bean taquitos, which were small and very fried. The fried shell was at least half the weight of each taquito.

The "Classic" topping is guacamole, cheese, and lettuce (and sparse). The "guacamole" is the thin, acidic stuff you'd get packaged at a supermarket (not complaining, but this isn't one of THOSE Lower East Side places).

Walking out, not quite satisfied, I caught myself making googly eyes at Katz's. Really, there's no difference between what's served here and the business you'd find in the freezer aisle. The whole shop is probably a more efficient operation out the side of a food truck.

  2. Taquitoria was ok, definitely not the best Mexican eatery I've been to. I finished their pork taquitos with their classic topping style (with lettuce, guacamole dressing and their own specialty cheese), but I wish those portions were bigger.

I came here to sober up post-drinks at a nearby bar, and the food here did its job. But I don't think it was worth the price I paid, I didn't mind that in my tipsy state, though.

One thing I did notice was that the cashier tried to be friendly to me, but he came off as super condescending and rude by calling me "sweetheart" and "darling", and asking me if I had any "fun plans" for the night, probably because it was unusual that I walked in at 9pm on a Friday night, solo.

I was more focused on taking care of my body post-alcohol than anything, so though I was momentarily pissed off at his attitude, I didn't care one bit afterwards.

The Yelp description for this place is spot-on: this is a great spot for late-night food, since there was no one eating in when I got to Taquitoria. Also, though I initiallt wanted to stay in and eat, one glance at the tables in the back made me change my mind, because the seating area didn't look inviting nor comfortable to me. That might not be a priority for everyone looking for a place to eat post-midnight.

  3. WOW! I am impressed.

Location: Ludlow street becomes to my new heat spot for my NYC life. And thanks to FOODBABY, I got to know this exceptional taco place in L.E.S. I do not have much knowledge of Taquitoria, all I know is taco. So this form of taco is interesting to me. And the best part: it is fried! OMG, SO GOOD. The place is hippie as hell. Ordered at the front desk, and sit wherever you want then they will bring your Taq.

Food: get 3 Taq with black beans.
NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW GOOD IT WAS. And their sauces are also a plus to eat with.

Oh, I will come back soon!

  4. I yelped a couple places around LES to grab a quick bite and decided on checking this place out.  As soon as I stepped in, they were playing some old school hip hop and the staff was very friendly so I decided to eat there. Keep in mind this place might be hard to find since their awning is tiny. Just follow the music…

Their menu is very basic but they do things right.  I ordered 3 pork and 3 beef taquitos.  You cannot mix and match when you order sets.  You have 3 different options for toppings and you can order a plate of 3 for $6 or 5 for $9. I am a fan of taquitos but if you prefer a traditional soft  shell taco this is not the place for you.

I recommend the pork tacuitos with the chronic topping.  The menu does not state what a chronic topping is, so take a look at my picture down below. The dish on the right hand side has the chronic topping.

They sell beer and other flavored soft drinks.

All in all this is a great little spot for a quick bite.  For those that are still confused on what exactly a taquito is, they are very similar to a lumpia or a thin crispy spring roll filled with meat. Cheers!

  5. So me and a few friends were on our way to a well known place that we have heard about, but the 1 hour wait made us gift up that quick. We ran into this small place on our way back to the car and im glad we stopped.

They specialize in taquitos only, No tacos or burritos. So i order the cheesy chicken taquito and rice and beans and i will tell you this i was not disappointed.

They dont have a liquor section but the margarita was doing the job.

Its not that big. But the atmosphere is cute.

  6. Pretty good–once you've doused it with Valentina hot sauce…

The deal here is 3 taquitos for $6 or 5 for $9..+$3 for chronic style. Pretty pricy since the taquitos are so tiny, and one person can probably eat at least 10. At least. But anyway- we wanted to get the chronic nachos with black beans but I guess they don't mix and match here at all, and wouldn't add black beans so we got the black bean chronic style taquitos. Black bean stuffed taquitos with drizzled sour cream and green gauc sauce, cheese, cotija cheese, and lettuce on top for $12–Was pretty yummy but expensive for late night food! We inhaled those in about 10 seconds.

They should do a better job about keeping the place clean- trash can was filled to the rim, and counter spaces where you sit and eat were dirty with other people's spilled leftovers. Make this place more inviting and give more taquitos to earn that 4-5 star rating!

  7. Oh Taquitoria, we just became acquainted – but I already know I am in love. You have perfected the art of the taquito.

These taquitos are fried to perfection, and topped with the most amazing sauces. The come in quantities of three or nine – beef, pork, chicken and bean. Classic sauce is great, but the chronic sauce is the bomb. No calories are spared, but I could not be more satisfied post consumption.

Definitely my now go to food outpost for LES late night grub – thank the heavens they are open until 2am.

  8. The taquitos here are so fresh. We ordered the chicken taquito with cheese and beef taquito. They make it freshly right after you order. The wait might be a few mins to 10 mins but it's worth the wait.
